HG Vs SS

Back in the day I bought Gold version, my second Pokémon game, and it was the most fun I have ever had with a Pokémon game yet. Because of that I carry it over to HeartGold as well. It's also the one I own. There really isn't a reason besides consistency with past good-times, but that's reason enough.

 

Well, they're pretty much identical other than Lugia/Ho-oh and version exclusives. But I chose SoulSilver because I like Lugia a lot more than Ho-oh.

 

I've always been one for the 'underdog' of things, and with Heartgold seeming like the more popular and extravagant of the two (because gold outclasses silver), Soulsilver was my choice. I'm also happier with blue and white colours, which suited me fine in Lugia's case.

EDIT: After posting and seeing my avatar and signature appear, I'd say I don't have to prove how I feel about blue and white.

 

SoulSilver. Has more of my preferred Pokémon. Skarmory, Ninetales, Lugia, etc. Just better Pokémon, imo.

 

Like all Pokémon games being released at the same time, they're pretty much the same thing, just with different exclusives and so on. The way I really judge which game I prefer is based on the legendary mascot and the exclusives. Soul Silver had the preference in those, so it would have to be my favorite of the two.

 

I prefer Lugia, so I pre-ordered SoulSilver back when it first came out.

 

Soul Silver; it had more of the exclusives i wanted, I prefer Lugia to Ho-oh, and Lugia was actually harder for me to get than I thought. I hadn't played silver prior to its remake so I had no idea which of the whirl island was the right one to go to,ended up going to all of them before I found the right one. Plus I was determined to not use the masterball for it but the thing wouldn't stay in any other and completely drained me of my Pokéball supply so had to use the masterball anyway.

 

I played Gold originally and then borrowed my brother's Silver. I chose to buy Soul Silver when it came out because SS has a cooler title than HG and I love Lugia.

 

SS. Lugia to me is a sign of peace, and other nice things. c: Ho-oh to me is just a sign of fire.

 

SS. Lugia has been one of my favourites since I watched the Pokémon 2000 movie XD

 

I bought HG instead of SS because my brother wanted SS and we kinda did a thing that we buy the opposite of one of us gets ._.
