Horcruxes

    I was in the library the other night, in the restricted section... (Harry Potter reference. If you haven't finished series, not a good thread for you) Alright, I won't quote that whole thing to y'all ;). This topic is assuming you'd be willing to kill people to make horcruxes, try not to make morals the point of your post for the sake of actually answering the question.

    What items would you make your horcruxes out of? How many would you have? Where would you hide them? Would you tell anybody where they are located?

    Although the HP books kind of make a point on making horcruxes out of important items in one's life, I feel like that could be potentially dangerous if somebody were to come and track my horcruxes. I mean, I wouldn't want people to find them. I would probably end up using 4 random items, probably garbage, and bury them or just throw them in a dump. It'd be pretty hard to find them, considering you can't actually summon a horcrux using magic. I'd probably use one on an important item of mine (my saxophone would make an excellent horcrux), just so I could keep track of at least one. Although it would be kinda cool to live that long, having my soul separated would kinda suck, also I'd have to kill people. So yeah, never gonna happen :(

    If I went crazy, consumed by the desire to be a great and powerful wizard, I'd make my Horcruxes out of semi random stuff. I think it would all mean something to me, but be pretty random to outsiders. like the strap of my backpack that I really liked, maybe a random stuffed animal I've always lov, or a bottle cap that I still have from a really good soda. though I was also just struck by the possibility of using random item from the victim.... hmm. as for protecting hem, probably nothing too extreme, like as said already, bury it in the yard, or maybe stick it in the attic. something simple, with maybe a muggle repelling spell

    Sentimentality kills you, like moldie voldie so kindly demonstrated.
    I'd simply use a unassuming pebble, only one because I quite like being sane(ish).
    And then, I'd hide thay pebble in some body of water or in a forest. The simplicity is the genius part here.
