How did you first get introduced to ROM hacking? Why did you decide to get into ROM hacking? When did you start?

I started when I saw a pic of a ROM hack (Pokémon Reloaded) -2 years ago- ...after this I downloaded the game and I though "Could I ...". And there was when I Start downloading a lot of programs like Game Maker. But I leave it because I was too busy in the school..I could do it again but I need practice :D
Now I will return...to the shadows :ninja:

I like hacking quite a bit, so it didn't take me too long before the thought of hacking a Pokémon game came to my mind. I learned everything I needed either by watching YouTube videos about it, or just from my own experiences.

Well when you want to make a hack, there is alot of things to consider and plan. You also need a knowledge on how to hack a .gba game in general.

So more importantly, you need to flesh out ideas and think over the conventions of a Pokémon game and how that can interpret into a game's design. Because how organized and constructed a game is, makes or breaks it.

I made a Guide on fleshing out ideas, here on LV. If you want a look, here is a link to the tutorial: http://lakevalor.net/forums/forum/9-tutorials/

Be weary, alot of the tutorials on YouTube are VERY outdated, since making a hack is MUCH easier now. I may write up some stuff on how to script and insert OW's and so on and so forth. Well, probably the basics :)

Making a hack is easier than it is led on.

Of course, some things like making RPG Maker Games(Zeta and Omnicrom). These are FAN GAMES MADE BY SCRATCH, so they utlizie a different engine and pratices n_n

But I learned to hack by learning from experience and reading multiple tutorials around the internet. Hacking is fun when you get it down.

Long time ago, when I first saw that I could actually edit ROM's, mostly the maps, I got pretty excited.

But I have been learning by the years coming, making a lot of mistakes on the trip. But it has been such a fun trip , even If I'm not a pro at it.
