I've seen this question asked A LOT in various art communities from people who want to begin drawing but don't know where to start (different from taking art seriously). How did you guys start? Tips for people who want to start? I started in middle school because I was in a group of very artistic friends. It all kinda blew up from there! It's a struggle because when you first start obviously you aren't gonna be the best artist ever. I didn't start drawing and immediately create a Mona Lisa. I know this discourages a lot of people. But I stuck with it and I think I can say I've done a lot of improving since then.
I'm not really sure if I even know where I started. I've just kind of doodled here and there since forever and always wanted to work on my skills but never got around to it. Lately I've been more inspired to actually draw, but rarely have I been able to get myself to actually do anything.
I started when I was very young, but I just did some horrible, traditional art doodles. However, when I got into the first year of secondary school, I had a friend that REALLY got into digital art for some reason, so I just followed her. Since I didn't have a drawing pad back then, my art was really bad. From then on, I started drawing more and more often.
I was 3 when I started drawing. The first thing I ever drew was a side profile of my mothers face. Obviously it wasn't Picasso-level, but I still think it shocked my mum a bit because most kids start of drawing scribbles and stick figures. I never done that... I can't even remember why I started drawing or why I drew that picture. I just.. done it.
I started because I love, love the manga style and I wanted to recreate it myself. I am not that great with humans, however, and found a more comfortable niche in animals
I started because I was bored. That's it. I know I'm not destined to become a great artist, but I do art for fun, just li'l crappy doodles when I feel like drawing, but I do what I can.
