I actually try to start off with the grass starter, however sense I usually have the counterpart to the game I end up trying out all of the starters by the end. I usually prefer the fire starters of the main series.

Favorite design, for the most part. When it comes to generations where I like all of the designs (3, 5, 7), I'll usually end up going for the water starter, though. Not really sure why, but it's probably related to the old Brock days, hah.

(Which is weird, since I actually beat Red just fine as a kid with Charmander; guess I just favor water overall just a tiny bit more)

I tend to pick the Grass type starters most of the time. It started in Platinum with Turtwig, and now it's pretty much spread to all of my other games. The only two grass starters that I wouldn't pick are Bulbasaur and Snivy, but I would just end up picking the water type starters instead xD

I pick based on their design and typing as well, typing mainly because I've grown tired of fire starters that's part fighting or generally looks like a fire type. So is varies what I pick really since I choose based on look first and foremost.

A always choose based on their design. I never care about typing or stats, or any of that other stuff. If I like the design of a starter or its evolutions I choose it. Simple as that really.

I usually just pick the grass starters. My first starter was turtwig and I kept going with grass. However, I picked fennekin in X because I didn't like chespin's design that much.

Its simple. All of my starters are water type. If no water type, its fire type. Except 2 fire type, all are water pokemons

I just take the one that appears to have the best type combination for my team. Or I just choose them randomly based on their Names and designs.

I traditionally go fire unless one of the other types really grabs me. I normally do multiple runs with different characters though, so I tend to cover

I am with fire type starters. That's my second fav type and I also like their fire moves a lot! They're so cool!

I usually go for fire types unless the water types are better or just look better than the fire type, but very rarely do I choose grass types with the exception being treeko or snivy

It's pretty much based on aesthetics for me, specifically how the first and third stage look, but I tend to pick the grass types.

It really depends on which one I like the most. If I've already chosen a specific starter before, though, I'll try to change it up a little.

I almost always go Grass Type with Water every once in a while, but sometimes I'll choose Fire if I'm replaying the game or something.

(The only time I ever chose Fire first was my Fennekin in Y, but I quickly realized I liked Greninja a lot better, lol)

Ever since Red and Blue when I picked Charmander, I have always picked the Fire starter for my first run of a game. It's not like I have to.. it just became like a tradition I guess?

I always pick the one that's my favorite in terms of how it looks. If I like all of them or just two of them equally, I'll go with whichever is better in battle.

Proud Grass-type Trainer since the first generation! So I always go wih the grass starters, normally. :>

There are exceptions, kinda like in Gen II where I wasn't the bigges fan of Chikorita so I started with Cyndaquil instead. Gen III is also another exception because for whatever reason at the time I wasn't a fan of Treecko and picked Torchic (I think eventually I picked Treecko once and in ORAS I stuck with Treecko).
