How do you chose team members?

I usually pick some of my favorite Pokémon that have good stats. Also I look for a variety of Pokémon for weakness coverage and for things like walls and sweepers.

 

Two words: Coolness factor. And by pure coincidence most of the pkm I think are "cool" in terms of looks have pretty decent stats

 

I usually try to choose Pokémon I haven't used before. I like to make sure my team is balanced with no overlapping types as well.

 

Hmmm i choose by types which i mean, that my team has a lot of types by every Pokémon in the team.
Also i choose the fave ones that have good stats.

 

Most of the time I choose Teammembers based on how much I like a certain Pokémon. I als try to use lesser used Pokémon to make everything seem more interesting. I also look for good coverage (meaning no overlapping types and such), wich can be really difficult sometimes.

 

I usually go for the Pokémon I really like, with type variety in mind.
But the first time I play through the game, it's usually starter OP + some HM dudes...

 

I usually have a balanced team (a defender, special defender, 2 attackers, and 2 special attackers). I don't know why I never got in to being hyper offensive teams or weather teams. Maybe not my cup of tea lol. Also, I use my Meganium in almost all battles since it's my favorite Pokémon.

 

I normally choose team members from their visual appearance and how useful they'll be in the game at that time. Normally, I look at the Gyms to come and eventually the League when deciding whether a Pokémon will be appropriate for that point in the game or not. I also try to find a balance and minimize my weaknesses so that my Pokémon will faint less and it'll be a nicer playthrough. That being said, sometimes I come across a certain Pokémon that I haven't used before and decide to use it to see how efficient it is for further playthroughs. I like most Pokémon but there are only six slots so it comes down to the ones I like and enjoy using the most.

 

My basis on how i pick a team is pretty much a combination of two factors: if the Pokémon looks cool to me, and if its stats and moveset is pretty good. There are exceptions to this, however. I think it all depends on if I liked the Pokémon to begin with, too.

 

I usually go for the three-Pokémon team. Easier to train and I choose ones that types and stats balance each other. Of course I choose the Pokémon I actually like and think are cool.
