How do you feel about this?

I like long animes, but not ever-ending ones. Long storylines make you fall in love with the character more, then is some sick twist they die.
If it's short, everything will feel like a one-shot manga. Some light feels and then move on, easily forgetting the anime.

 

So, wait, even animes that only run for a short amount of time anyway will be down an episode? What dunerhead thought that this was a good idea?

 

Anyone who has read the manga of these animes would know that this is not true. This is just a false rumor, as far as I'm concerned.

 

Where did you hear this? I don't know how anyone could possibly have any grounds for creating a rule like this, nor do I think that they could have any means of enforcing it. It sounds fake to me.

 

That's strange I never saw this on AnimenewsNetwork. Either way I'm not a huge fan of short running anime shows. I feel as if they are rather rushed and we don't get any character development what's so ever. I find long running anime shows more enjoyable and we actually get to know more about the characters in general.

 

I just thought they have just decided to make 11-12 episode a season and not 11-12 episodes in total. if it were just seasons then it would make sense, but otherwise it sounds like a false rumor. also short anime are NOT to be underestimated. it's not impossible to establish a well working plot, grants lots of character developments and make you care about the characters. good example for such shows? Tsuritama! it got some great developments, good characters and a working plot for a 12 episode anime. however that was an original anime while manga based anime will get into lots of trouble with a 11-12 episode restriction (if it were true it would be like this for now on). here we could look at Tokyo Ghoul that was a 12 episodes long anime that really messed up compared to the manger as they had to fit to much into the season restriction, it has after all be granted a season two.

conclusion, it's possible to make a good anime with 12 episodes, but you have to plan it, it has to be made for it. Force a manga into 12 episodes and it would be a disaster and I would never support the animations of my favorite shows as I know the anime would be screwed before it even started with all that rush.

 

Short anime can be really good, but evety anime becoming 11-12 episodes, I don't see that happening. It's probably just a rumor.

 

I hope it's a rumor, because some anime are better long.

I do like short anime, though. It's nice for people who don't have a lot of time and they can be strong, too.

 

I like longer animes too. Although, if it runs too long ( Cough Cough Pokémon Cough ) It gets a bit dry and boring.
