What I mean is, do you plan ahead of time on everything you do, or do you live your life day-by-day, taking things all once at a time?

I personally live life 1 day at a time. I sometimes fear it won't be best to live like this if I need to think about my future, but living life this way makes things less... petrifying, I guess you could say.
I feel at ease not having to constantly think about what I'm going to do next week, or that I have to do this with this person before I can make plans to do something else with that person and etc...
Don't get me wrong, I do plan for certain things, but for the most part, I will end up going to sleep simply wondering what life has in store for me in the upcoming hours.

I hate not having plans. For me, I tend to try to have things completely planned out at least a week in advance. That way, if something goes wrong (it always does) then I have extra time to stay relaxed and still fix things up.

I live life in the moment, one step at a time; delighting in the little things while stopping to smell the flowers along the way.

I find myself only capable of planning a few months ahead at the most. Should I make plans for anything after that, I will tend to forget unless I make many blatant reminders for myself scattered about. Generally during the times in which I am in school (times of year, not times of day), I will plan out the next week in detail - sometimes the next 2 weeks - to make sure I fulfill all obligations.

I don't make plans too far in the future, primarily because I will forget them, though in the present I manage to place myself in a situation in which I will be stable and ready for future plans that may arise. I do believe that this is a silly way to live life and demonstrates an utter lack of true foresight, but sadly I have been unable to truly shake myself of this habit.

I try and live for the here and now, so my anxiety won't blow up. I tend to worry a lot about the future and things I can't control.

I'm so much more day-to-day. Planning ahead is good too but I hardly seem to plan more than a few weeks ahead.. that's just too far into the future for me and things come up so it's hard to tell what I'll be doing. Thinking too much about the future can be really worrying too, especially for a person who can turn small situations into big ones from naturally being a bit of a paranoid person, so I like going through life slowly as days pass. Much more refreshing ^_^

I live mostly day-by-day, only planning some certain small things, like buying a game when it comes out or going to an event (and saving for them).
This is mostly due to how I personally don't care about my future in the long run. I even decided that I'd study in food production because that was the thing I wanted to do right then, I didn't think what I wanted to do in the future. Combine this with the fact that I'm quite lazy, and can only do things if I have motivation, it can and has caused troubles for me.

My mind just instinctively plans out how my day is going to go, no effort to do that at all. I'll just have things to do, about how long it takes, extra time blocked off... It just happens, all in my mind, never written or anything. And my day will go almost always as my rough schedule seems to have it. It just happens, I'm fine with it, and it can help to make sure I get stuff done that needs to be done.

I live life by goals, I guess you could say. Stuff that's right in front is a 10m target. Stuff that's a few years away is 25m target. Stuff that's a decade away is a 50m target. And stuff that is beyond that is 100m. I plan things to achieve my goals (though I do have fun along the way) and I focus on the 5m targets the most, but will often think about the 25m target. That probably doesn't make much sense, so simply put, I plan for things. xD

Plans? What is this plans of which you speak? I know of no such concept.

I have a simple process to living my life.

1: Find things I have to do that are time-sensitive. Do those things. Only proceed to number 2 when number 1 is fulfilled.
2: Find things I have to do that are not time-sensitive. Do those things. Only proceed to number 3 when numbers 1 and 2 are fulfilled.
3: Do something else until condition 1 or 2 is again unfulfilled.

    That's really it. Today was:

1: Wake up, eat, go to work, do the work, eat, keep working, go home.
2: Eat again, contact college advisor, make some lunches for next week, get in touch with an old friend.
3: Goof off on the interwebs, other unwinding activities until time-sensitive task "sleep" becomes necessary.

    Very simple procedure.

I live very much in the moment. It is very hard for me to make complex plans ahead of time for days ahead as I will forget without constant reminders or being late/on the verge of being late. Most of the things I do are on a whim, like "this seems like a good thing to do right now/in the very near future." This probably stems from most of the time having to improvise the the plans, sometimes massively, when I involve other people in said plans. I can appreciate a planned schedule, but most of the time I like doing my own thing on my own time.

I'm either planning too far ahead or wondering if I should have planned something that already happened. It's rather strange, how my mind works.

Personally I do a bit of both. But I only really plan the "big picture" stuff like which University i'm going to go to, but from my experience most things don't happen exactly as you plan them, so I like to go by "let's see what happens" in my every day life

I usually go by a day by day basis, I mean if I try planning at least a few weeks ahead, chances are that something beyond my control will interfere and make it a no-go (i.e. weather). lol

Yeah, with some things, I think about the long term effects (i.e. alcohol & drugs), and I worry about some other things to come in the future (i.e. jobs, driving, kids, etc.).

I go about my life on a day to day basis. I look to the future once in a while though and think about where I'll be. I don't let the future establish what I am doing right now in its entirety. I know what's right and what's wrong, and I let that judge how I life my life.

I'm more of a day-by-day person. Yes, planning ahead is awesome, but also, I'd rather live by going with the flow of things. Unless it's absolutely important for me to plan for, I just hang out for a while before I really do anything. Huh. Maybe why I procrastinate so much is because of this. Oh well.
