All of us hate it when we get art block. For mosly everybody,it is a cloudiness of ideas that needs to be thought upon. (actually meaning you feel the need to fix it but can't at that first moment) I've had it a few times...and i sort of have it now. I want to draw on Colors 3D (because i need to be a tiny bit more active there too even though it is kinda going downhill.) Just drawing does not help me get rid of it. I just take a break. Soo...How do YOU overcome it?

I rarely experience art block before because I don't draw all of the time. If I can't think of anything to draw, I simply don't draw. If I really felt like drawing something but didn't know what, I'd probably watch a show that I enjoy (or maybe even find a new one) and then draw a bunch of art based on that.

Thats a good idea watching your favorite TV show to get ideas. I might try that!

I let people give me requests. Or, I do art trades with people.

Also, whenever you get a good drawing idea, you should write it down so that you don't forget it.

I doodle. A lot, probably more than I intend to. But usually if I want to avoid artblock I just draw out small things and listen to a lot of music in hopes an idea can occur.

Well i don't draw professionally really, i just draw random creatures where i don't know what I'm doing going in, if i mess up, i just change any ideas i had. But when i do face it, i sit there just brainstorming for as long as it takes to come up with a.new starting position. Writer's block i face more often (not thread topic so if you want don't read) though. What i try, is breaks, but if that fails i try reading/finding good fanfiction. It got me started writing, and what can help me continue. If those fail, i keep waiting till inspiration strikes.

It depends on my muse to be honest with you. I've always gone through artblocks it's been my main issues for the past few years. Lately I've been able to overcome this art block by doing a few things. Looking at professional artists artwork such as anime drawings on Pixiv gives me a huge amount of art muse. Pixiv is one of the main sites that inspires me to continue drawing until the very end. Next up is watching speedarts. I'm normally seen watching speedarts on my laptop, watching and understanding different techniques to see if I can interrupt that into my artwork. Another thing that breaks me out of artblocks happens to be watching/looking up art tutorials. I watch this youtuber on Youtube whenever I have a small amount of Art muse. I've been using them as my tutorial guide ever since I first started drawing anime and they've been helpful ever since.

I watched good picture in zerochan or danbooru (/!\ r18) website or I wait... played video game, slept etc. But a pro who work in animation/bd ... he must always draw ! I know a autor who had artblock, he forces to draw. He had no choice ! I think, it's the better if you want be a pro.

    Good luck !

I find it helps to listen to music, watch movies or speedpaint videos from other artists.
So basically a lot of other creative media.
I feel that since they all come from the same flow of creativity, they can help really well to influence each other.

A song might give me emotions/feelings that I can try to portray in the theme of a drawing.
A movie can give me inspiration for color pallets.
And speedpaint videos can inspire me to try new techniques that I may not have attempted before.

Personally, I just go with the flow of things. I like to sketch things in front of me, and that helps me think of ideas for other pieces. I'm the kind of person who looks at a tree and thinks, oh that's a nice shade of green, let's see if I can replicate it with some of my paints. I'm not a digital artist but, I love to try out different brushes. See if I can try to make something out of the whim. I don't think when I work on my art, I tend to kind of lose my creativity when I think, which typically leaves me with artblock.

It's actually very difficult for me to overcome this. :( Most of the time I have to let time work its magic, which can take from a few hours to even a few months, or hope that something I browse online will trigger my desire to draw more again. It's always nice during the day when I don't need a light to be on as well since the orange walls in my room make the lighting hurt my head occasionally when lights are on. Stay up, sun! I need you!

Art block is an evil, evil little thing.

When I do get art block, I find that playing some of my favorite games tends to get the creative juices flowing again. Either that, or just sketching things until something clicks. Art block can be irritating, but you do have to learn to push through it if you want to improve. I know I've had a lot of hard times when I've had work to do and been completely drained of ideas, but after I pushed through it and forced myself to work, I did learn and I felt a lot better because of it.

I just go out to find new resources to make things if I get it. I get inspired when I get new stuff to use.

I keep sketching and drawing until I finally break through it or end up giving up, haha. Listening to different music and trying a different approach works quite well for me, too

Usually it depends on how bad the block. I may just doodle a bunch until some kind of new inspiration hits, switch to writing for a while until I get the urge to draw back, or just wait it out. Though the latter may take a while, which after a certain time it does get really aggravating and discouraging, especially when you see your artsy friend all pumping out stuff.

Watching anime, reading, or listening to music sometimes will help too.
