    So today, I heard the word Pokémon spoken three times, which is actually a lot considering I don't know many people my age who still play it. Anyhow, something strange happened. One person (an enthusiastic player of the games) pronounced it "Po-Key-Mon", another pronounced it "Po-Kay-Mon", and then I add my two cents and pronounce it "Po-Kuh-Mon".

    Wow, it's one simple word, but all three of us who (two of whom live in the same area of the same country) pronounce it three different ways! How about you, do you say it one of those ways, or is there another option I'm missing?

    ~~~
    As I said above, I pronounce it Po-Kuh-Mon. I'm pretty sure the anime (the most official source of pronunciation, I think) says it Po-Kay-Mon, but maybe I'm just a lazy speaker, willingly disregarding the most proper way. I doubt I'll change any time soon, the word is a part of me now.
    I say "Po-Kuh-Mon" even though that's not how it's pronounced. That's just what rolls off of the tongue easiest for me so that's what I stick to. The accented e indicates that it is indeed pronounced "Po-Kay-Mon" but oh well.
    I pronounce it Po-kuh-mon but I feel like I got that from the anime even though you said it's pronounced Po-kay-mon in the anime
    I typically pronounce it either Po-kay-mon or Po-ke-mon, I believe, according to anime canon, the correct pronunciation is 'Po-kay-mon', because of the accent. Japanese pronunciation is something along the lines of 'Po-kay-mung', with it pronounced very fast and the last syllable with a strange lilt to it
    Since I grew up watching the show as a kid and in the some of the openings they say "Po-Kay-Mon," so that's why I pronounce it like that. Of course, I have tried to use the other pronunciations, and I never could say "Po-Kuh-Mon," but one of my best friends did though when we would play Pokémon Stadium together. Most of the people I know call it "Po-Key-Mon" and I understand that, as I actually do end up calling it that from time to time. I think Pokémon has been pronounced all three of these ways at least one time in the anime, so I guess there really is no "wrong" answer in this.
    I say Po-kay-mon too. Whenever I hear my classmates talking about it (they're making fun of it), they say Po-key-mon. I always end up criticizing that because with a Dutch accent, that makes Pokémon sound so stupid.
    Due to fact that I'm Finnish, I just pronounce things as they are written quite often, though I try to pronounce words correctly according to the language I'm speaking (or trying to speak).
    I tend to pronounce it as "Po-Kay-Mon". I don't know why, but I find it's natural for me to say it that way in my native language (Indonesia language), even my parents pronounced it that way as well. Hearing Pokémon being pronounced that way on the anime (in original Japanese, Indonesian dub, and English dub on occasion) helps as well.
    I pronounce it Pokaymon in my head, but whenever mentioning it irl (due to my language accent and Pokémon consistently pronouncing it like that since I was little) it always comes out as Pokuhmon, which sounds stupid. Oh well, it's too late to turn back I guess.
    For giggles, I say it's polka-mon :P
    Po-kay-mon just sounds weird to me and I take the english dubbed anime pronunciations with a grain of salt anyway.
    I either pronounce it as 'Po-key-mon' or 'Po-kay-mon'. I know it's the latter, but Po-key-mon slips off my tongue very easily.
    I always pronounce it po-key-mon or po-kuh-mon, but mostly the former. Po-kay-mon just reminds me of that Dylan and Cole Sprouse commercial.
