Haven't seen a topic like this made, but someone let me know if it's been created before. :P

How do you sleep at night?
By that, I mean what position do you sleep in? Do you do anything special before going to bed? Do you sleep with anything, like a stuffed animal? How many pillows and blankets do you require to get a good night's sleep?

For me, I require 2 pillows 98% of the time or else I won't be getting a good night's sleep at all.
I usually make do with 1 blanket, but sometimes I'll use 2 when it's colder than usual.
I sleep on my side the majority of the time, unless I'm completely exhausted, in that case I can sleep pretty much anywhere in any position.
And if at all present, I need a fan or AC on throughout my entire slumber.

I think that's about it for how I sleep, I'm a pretty basic sleeper.
Sleep is love sleep is life.

    How do I sleep? i don't

Nah, but seriously, I usually have just the quilt and a couple pillows during the summer months, then in the winter I have another blanket on top of wearing my winter-weather pajamas. It really depends on how hot/cold it is, but other than that, I can't deal with any kind of noise around me when I sleep. I just cannot sleep with noises around me for some reason.

I can't have any sort of fan or air conditioning on, which can be tough in the summer months. It's also unfortunate because the (very loud) washer/dryer is in my room, and my mom likes to do laundry extremely early, so I only really get a good night's sleep a couple days out of the week.

As for position, I don't really have a set standard. I move around a lot when I sleep, so I switch positions quite a bit. I'm a fan of sleeping on my side, though. That seems to be the most comfortable, although I also like sleeping on my stomach.

    With my eyes closed.

I have found that if I am not lying on my back, I cannot truly fall asleep. Once I actually get to sleep I'll be okay, but as I cannot get to sleep easily (I tend to toss and turn), if I do not keep a consistent sleeping position I will get nowhere. On occasion I have found that I have slept on my side in the night. I know this because my arm is entirely numb the following morning. It is not pleasant having to wait and/or force the feeling back into my arm. I usually end up having to slam it against a wall or floor multiple times. (Why not sleep on my stomach though? I've tried that too, but it messes up my spine.)

I will standardly use 1 pillow (maybe 2) to prop up my neck so that I won't sleep with it in a strange position (I had that happen to me several weeks ago, and it was not pleasant). I usually have 1 sheet plus a comforter to sleep underneath, and as the weather around where I live does not fluctuate, that usually does not change.

I used to have a flannel pad as well, but as that tends to trap heat and the area which I live is warmer than average, that has since been removed. Additionally when it gets hotter at night (as it has been currently) I usually have to sleep on top of the comforter (i.e. no sheets) just to keep my temperature from increasing too high. I much prefer the cold, and I detest having to work in an environment of above-average heat.

Commonly I will have my boombox nearby which consistently plays white noise to help me sleep (currently, the sounds of a thunderstorm in the rainforest). It certainly helps, especially after days in which I have a thousand thoughts at once and need to stop thinking in order to get to sleep (which is probably about 80% of the time).

But I do actually sleep with my eyes closed, yes.

Sleep? You mean that thing that mortals do to regain energy? Never heard of it.

But seriously, I have one condition I need in order to have a good sleep, even if it's only a 45 minute nap or a full fledged 5 hour rest.

    • Temperature. Temperature and Sleep go hand in hand with me as under some conditions, I absolutely cannot sleep. For example, if it's winter and under 32 F (0 C), I open the window, let the cool air flow in, and I sleep like a baby. However, on a hot day, say ~85 F (29.4 C), I absolutely cannot sleep without my fan on or the window open. Main reason why I like the cold air is because my bed is positioned straight, facing away from the window.
As for sleeping positions, I usually sleep on my right side with me not facing the wall, but I absolutely refuse to sleep on my stomach or my back facing straight up or down. Those positions are extremely uncomfortable for me.

I only need one pillow cause I somehow have an extremely better sleep with one pillow rather than with two.

I hardly ever sleep. I average about 2-4 hours a day. I'd like to note that I sleep during the day when I have a night shift. If I'm on days, I'll sleep 6 hours. When I don't sleep for a few days at a time, I'll crash for 12 plus hours.

As for positions and stuff like that, I sleep on a queen sized bed. I sometimes wear pajamas depending on weather. I often move around a lot when I sleep, so I sleep on all sides and often wake up in weird positions. When my girlfriend sleeps with me, I often sleep along the wall so I don't move so much. I honestly sleep more comfortable on the couch where I nap from time to time.

Under two blankets in my underwear :P I can't stand night clothes for some reason when I'm in bed.
I also have two pillows because of acid reflux. In terms of position, on my stomach with my arms at my side.

Oh boy, I'm so particular about how I sleep, and it takes me a bit to fall asleep!! Okay, so first I'll talk about the necessities of a good slumber for me!
    • Two squishy pillows! One will lay horizontal, and one vertical right next to the other on the left side. I like to hug it while I lay on my left side!!
    • A fan on high, even in the winter. It's more so for the sound it makes rather than the cool temperatures it makes.
    • A radio on a country station!! I dislike country music any other time, but it's oddly soothing to me in the evening hours.
    • A stuffed animal on the ride side of the bed. For when I wanna lay on the right side, so I have something to hold.
    • A sheet and a light blanket for the warmer months, and a heavy blanket for colder months!
Ok, now for positions. It's weird, but I always have to lay in a certain position order so that I may fall asleep. The first position is on my right side. after 10 minutes or so I'll get the urge to swap, in which I'll flop over onto my left side. And, if I'm still awake, I'll eventually lay on my stomach with my head to the right. I dunno why, but I always have to lay in this order.

    Umm... I sleep.

I have a blanket, a pillow, neither super particular. In winter I have 2 blankets cuz a basement room is crap darn cold always. As for position I honestly don't know I think side but I fall asleep and probably roll and honestly have no idea. I just sleep, not think about it xD No fan no nightlight no music

I sleep usually on my side, with two pillows. I like my head being elevated, but lately, I've been sleeping with slight elevation.
I have a thick comforter I sleep under year round. Even in the summer and it can go 100+°F where I live (thank arceus for AC).
Sometimes, I sleep with a stuffed bear.

I'm a heavy sleeper, once I get to sleep and I can sleep nearly anywhere. I can barely keep my eyes open when in a car.

Sleep is only possible if my Gardevoir uses Hypnosis on me

    I do sleep. Yeah.
One pillow, sometimes two. Regular sleepwear, or just my underwear if it's too hot. Puplic radio music, although I tend to horizontally-dance when a good song comes on. There's also the occasional 20 minute repeat of Professor Layton's Theme, since the violins are nice.
I've been finding it hard to sleep lately, so I have been sleeping with a stuffed animal, the Eevee my girlfriend got me for Christmas last year. It reminds me of her, it kinda smells like her too.
I try to sleep on my back, but it's extremely uncomfortable, and I end up on my side in the end. I usually sleep with my head smooshed against the wall, usually where the corner is.
There have been many cases where I roll over and wake myself up, because there's a wall involved.

I sleep with 2 pillows. Its hard to fall asleep if I'm not rolled over onto my side. Also, for some odd reason, I literally cannot sleep without the TV on. It feels so... eerie to me, darkness and silence. I also can't sleep in a normal blanket, I have to use a comforter. I also sleep in normal clothes most of the time, unless its terribly hot. Side note, at my fathers house there's a couch and a bed in my room, and the couch is soo comfy, so I usually sleep on that. The cushions come up and I usually stuff my face in them so its nice and dark, so it's easy to sleep.

i sleep with two pillows: one for my head and one vertically beside me. It's kind of a thing I adopted from my younger days. I also have a bolster or a soft toy to cuddle, or else I'll feel like something's missing. One blanket is more than enough, although two is necessary for colder weather. I tend to fall asleep the easiest either on my right side or my back, depending on which position is the most comfortable that night. I notice that I kinda turn into a statue when I sleep; the bolster/soft toy would be still in my arms and my blanket would still be in the same position as when I fell asleep.

I can pretty much fall asleep anywhere until night comes, then I have to lay down flat on my back first, head propped on firm but not hard pillows, I generally spin, probably close to three times, rolling from side to stomach to side and then back to back, somewhere in there I fall asleep. I actually have a large collection of stuffed animals that I rotate sleeping with, it's only fair you know. They range from hand crocheted Pokémon my mom made, a stuffed glaceon, to random lizards dragons etc. I then proceed to toss and turn through the night, which means that the stuffy goes on the right side, other wise it ends up on the floor, rude.

For what little sleep I do get in, I normally lay on my back or side (got out of the habit of laying on my stomach. It's not good on your neck). I move around a bit in my sleep, sometimes more if I'm feeling restless. I almost always have some white noise in the background when I sleep (fan, AC etc.). I like it dark; I don't use nightlights. My bed is generic. One pillow, a sheet set, with a blanket on top, followed by a comforter on top of the blanket. In the summertime, I don't always use all layers of sheets/blankets. I like my room between the temperatures of 68 - 73 Fahrenheit. 69-70 is my absolute ideal temperature.

Yeah, I think that about covers it... no pun intended.

    My sleeping schedule is an absolute mess haha, sometimes I land 5 hours, sometimes 16 P; Really depends on how I feel through the day. I should probably fix it but I'd end up forgetting, knowing me;;
I sleep with 1 pillow unless i'm feeling awful. I used to sleep with 2 or 3 but decided to cut down when I found out too many pillows is bad. Sometimes I'll sleep with no pillows when i'm feeling EDGY

Position-wise, I go with sleeping on my stomach or on my side. I can't fall asleep on my back unless I'm utterly shattered or feeling ill. I sleep with a duvet and sometimes an extra blanket, but that's usually just because I feel like it rather than because of the temperature. Sound or no sound is fine by me. I didn't used to be able to sleep with sound or if it was bright but after several instances of falling asleep at ~4pm I've gotten used to it

    I think that's it??? o v o

I have insomnia. Sleep is not something I can easily achieve.

But, when I do sleep, I require a few conditions. Firstly, the temperature must be, at most, 68 degrees Fahrenheit, ideally less than 60 degrees as colder is better. I must have one pillow for my neck. I must have one blanket. That is all. I'm not very picky about where I choose to lay my head, considering I spend so little time sleeping anyway.

I sleep with two pillows and a sheet and a comforter. Sometimes an extra blanket if it's cold or I'm on my phone. ovo

I don't have a particular position, I can sleep on my back, either side, or my stomach. Very rarely do I wake up in the same position I fall asleep in.

My favorite position used to be sleeping on my stomach but that left me with neck pains every other week so I had to stop. x~x Nowadays I sleep on my sides mostly, sleeping on my back is nearly impossible since it's not comfortable enough for me to fall asleep with. Sleeping in general is just a pain for me though because of how sensitive of a sleeper I am.. I can't sleep with thick pillows (sucks cause thin ones are bad for my already sore enough neck lol) and need to have a thick blanket over me, even in the summer. omg summer sleeping is just the worst because of that. Also gotta have all the windows closed or it bothers me.. someone less sensitive to everything should trade places with me? C:
