How hard were the fifth generation games to you?

Can we finally just admit that we are too skillful for a Pokémon game to be challenging to us? If anyone is still expecting a new Pokémon game to provide a big challenge for us, then please stop, it's not going to happen! If you want a game to be challenging, you have to make the challenge yourself. Gen V even helped us with that by providing us of an actual Challenge Mode, doing all the hard work for you!

Whether the Gen V games were challenging to you or not completely depends on how you played it. On Easy Mode, with the Exp. Share always on and grinding till you're 10 levels above the rest of the trainers, there won't be any challenge for you. However, without those things, and with the Challenge Mode on top of it, I can assure you that the game will be much more challenging!

 

5th gen was hard. Ghetis handed my ass to him multiple times xD

 

It's been so long since I last touched Pokémon White 1 (and never even finished White 2) that it's difficult to remember. But I do remember that White 1 gave me very few problems after the beginning of the game; the only tight spots I'd had were Elesa's gym and the Unova Elite Four, while the rest was pretty much a cakewalk. The Exp. Share wasn't as OP as it is in X/Y (or was it?), so most of my team's levels matched up fairly with the boss NPCs' Pokémon. B/W2 definitely seemed like the more challenging game in comparison to the first, though, but I still found 5th Gen to be pretty fun and rewarding.

 

Just like any other main series Pokémon game, they were hard at certain parts, but other parts were just easy, I don't remember gen 5 being an exception.

 

Generation 5 was actually somewhat challenging for me since I was unfamiliar with some of the new game mechanics implemented. I would often get stuck at places because I didn't know what to do or how high to train my Pokémon to, or even what dream world abilities were.
BW2 was definitely harder with challenge mode and an entire plethora of different Pokémon available, not just those introduced in Gen 5.

 

BW2 were pretty easy for me, actually. I just pulled Serperior stall shenanigans with Leech Seed and Substitute. <3

I beat the first 3 gyms with just my starter. lol

 

I didn't find them extraodinarily difficult, to be quite frank none of the games are, but like @[member="AstralDragon"] said, we're all just too skilled to find them difficult, and really it depends on how good you are at the series as a whole.

That said, Ghetsis was pretty nightmarish.

 

I found the 5th generation games to easily be the most balanced games in terms of leveling in the entire Pokémon series. You stood a chance (finally) against the champion without heal spamming and the wild Audino made for some easy grinding.

 

They were a bit difficult only because of the EXP curve- it was incredibly hard to level up my team for the E4. Thank god that Audino existed, though, because otherwise grinding would have been impossible, haha. I think that the EXP curve is a good reason as to why a lot of people consider this Gen one of the hardest, although some of the Gym Leaders' teams and the final teams of the team bosses/champions are pretty challenging, as well.

 

The hardest battle was with Ghetsis in Team Plasma's castle at the end. I was just thinking, 'Damn you, Cofagrigus!' as it battled my Reshiram. It took me several tries (het, I remembered to save afterwards! yaay! XD
The battle with N..eh...a little hard, but I'm so glad he healed your Pokémon before Ghetsis battled you. I'm also surprised Ghetsis didn't just go out and just smack you or N across the face!
Anyway, Ghetsis's battle was soooo freakin hard!!! I had to go online to several different sites to see what Pokémon he'd use and when and I FINALLY beat him (only because his Pokémon was poisoned) after like the millionth try.

 

I think that's the only reason Audino existed. I trained against those guys for so long until I could beat Drayden with my Emboar... I ended up getting him to level 78 and crushed the elite four barring N because of Reshiram.
Overall, the games didn't feel too hard or too easy - they felt pretty good as a middle.

 

It wasn't hard for me to finish the games i finished it in a week. But now they got that Easy, Normal, Hard Mode. Ayyy they getting us now. But i have't played the hard and easy mode yet.

 

Never tried Challenge Mode, but both games were very easy. BW2 packed a little more of a challenge. BW, on the other hand, I could probably beat with me eyes closed.

 

Pah, Easy. Real, real easy.
But If I had to choose one of the two, I thought black 2 was harder, but the more Pokémon I was able to see and catch made it interesting.

 

I didn't really find them difficult at all as far as I can remember. I've definitely played harder games, though maybe they were easier to me as I grew older and got more experience.

 

They will straight forward, game play wise. Not like ORAS or XY, where you had to run all over the region.

 

It was a medium level hardness for me i beat it in a week.
