Do you like to sit down for 20 minutes to play a game, or are your sessions 5 hours and counting? Do you mix and match between occasional short sessions and long sessions, or stick to one or the other? Does it depend on the game or game genre? If so, which games do you play for long periods and which for short?
Would you prefer to change your session lengths, or are you happy to play for as long/short a length of time as you currently do?

Depend on the game. I tend to play Zelda for much longer than I play Pokémon. With Pokémon, I'll play for about 20 minutes (10 for shuffle because all my hearts have been used up) and I can easily play Zelda for about an hour or so.

There have been times where I only play for 15 minutes, and when I have played for 10+ hours almost non-stop. It mostly depends on if the game is a multiplayer or a single player, and for how long my friends are playing too, if they are.

I hear about people going on twenty-hour gaming sessions, which seems unhealthy and asinine to me. If you can pull it off though, then okay, do what you do.

I can game for as little as 5 minutes while I'm waiting for water to come to a boil or for as long as, oh I don't know, 5 hours if I really get whisked away to a magical land like Hyrule or Tamriel or Washington DC. That's probably my limit though: if I play long enough that I filled an entire gap between two meals by gaming nonstop, I'm calling it quits.

It does remind me of one of my first Skyrim sessions. I started playing one morning, next thing I know it's dark outside, I have to use the bathroom really badly, I'm sleepy, and really, really hungry. There goes a whole day, I guess. Oops.

It depends on the game--sometimes they are short bursts that last for a few minutes, and sometimes I play upwards of several hours, or even days.

"Twenty minutes" you say? What sorcery be this?

Kinda applicable to me too, though I haven't really played a multiplayer mode nowadays as much as I have done in the past. If I'm determined to gather all the trophies for a game, I'd easily dedicate a whole day to doing so, of course stopping and taking breaks in between.

As so many things fight violently for my spare time (video games being one of them), I don't find as much time to play video games as I have in the past. Certainly when school isn't in session I have a lot more time, but otherwise I have to carefully prioritise my time. More often than not I'll try to sneak in playing a video game while doing something else, such as typing a forum post - which I'm doing right now.

This only happens with video games I don't need to pay large amounts of attention to, however. For those, I set aside a block of time in the day to play them, and focus on the game, ignoring virtually all else. In a sense it's quite therapeutic to make progress in this way, as there are no other commitments to worry about. Of course, usually I have to step far away from my computer in order to do this, but I find it to be well worth it.

It depends on the game really, if is something like shuffle usually no more than 10-15 minutes because then I've used all my hearts. If is Pokémon an hour or two maybe, if is games like Skyrim and MMOs it can last for the good part of the day if I have time for it.

For me, it really depends on what game I'm playing. If I'm playing Pokémon for example, I'll usually play for a good three hours. If it's a horror game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., I'll usually play for en extremely long time, maybe 6 - 7 hours or so, and even more during the summer.

These days, I never play games for longer than 20 minutes at a time. It hurts my eyes and hands to play longer than that, and I can't sit still for too long or else my legs cramp up. I also go and do other things like drawing or reading instead, but it doesn't mean I don't like my games very much. It makes them last longer too, kind of. XD

It depends on the games I play, but normally I play for more than an hour. Honestly I do think I need to cut down a little bit, but it's hard to shake the habit.

If it's tales, it can be up to 5-12 hours, but for any other game, it's 3 or less at a time.

For me, usually it varies, depending when I feel like playing games or not. If I'm on the mood on playing games that I would enjoy, usually I'm playing for about 3-5 hours.

Being a Nintendo lover, you can imagine how long my gaming sessions are. It's hard to believe that a diligent student would have the time and ability to focus on gaming, but they can! For games like Pokémon, Kid Icarus: Uprising, The Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Brothers, they can usually last me from 30 minutes to 3 hours, but I rarely go overboard on school days. Only on the summer/winter breaks can I actually go that far. But it's also really hard for me to fit in other hobbies of mine such as drawing, reading, writing and others with playing video games, but games like Nintendo are good!
