Title sums it up pretty well. How long does it take for a new Pokémon game to get boring and stale to you? How much can you keep playing it after a certain amount of time has passed and you've beaten the main story? Let us know! Do you think most Pokémon games have a replay value or is one time enough?

The game gets old for me after I've beaten the entire storyline (including postgame)and even then I still play it to either complete the dex, breed competitive or just beat the elite four over and over again xD Once I have absolutely no reason to keep my save file, I'll replay them, so far I've done that with HeartGold and Sapphire. So yeah, I can basically play the games for eternity xD

It usually doesn't get boring to me after 6 months of playing it everyday after beating the mains storyliine, but whenever I take little breaks, I always return to the game and have a lot of fun. Pokémon games definitely has a good replay value because of all the different styles and Pokémon you can play with. Restarting games are always a little hard for me, but having a lot of fun with the game is the best part, no matter how old the games are.

It really depends on what there is for a post-game. It was hard to keep playing XY because there was literally no post-game to do. In all honesty, XY are the only games that have really gotten "stale" for me. I suppose if I replayed a game to death it would eventually get boring, but that hasn't happened yet.

Several months for me. I'd say around 3-6 or so depending on how much I've accomplished and how many others are still playing it. I tend to lose interest a bit if most of my friends have stopped playing - that probably is the biggest reason for a Pokémon game getting "old" in my eyes.

Seeing as how I am an aspiring competitive battler there is a very long time-frame before a Pokémon game gets boring to me. The battles make up for only a small portion of the time though if I am going to be completely honest. I spent 999+ hours on Pokémon x, with the vast majority of time being from competitive breeding, shiny breeding, and yes falling asleep on my 3DS from either of those two. So to wrap it up, until competitive battling, and/or breeding becomes boring to me I will be playing the newest game for as long as it is competitively viable.

The game will get old for me after 6 or 7 runs. I finally took a break from Platinum after that.
