How many megas is enough megas?

Gamefreak is giving more of older generations more megas, because they are hoping to get some of the old Pokémon players back. I think right now there are 48 megas (I'm not 100% sure though). I personally think that there should only be 10 more tops.

 

Well, to be honest with you, since the franchise isn't making any more Pokémon (I think), I would love to see new Megas for every generation to come next.

Seriously, if Lanturn could get a Mega Update omg... I will literally cry in extreme joy.

 

Hmm. This depends on your point of view.

I beleive Pokémon should only get a Mega if they never reached full potential when they originated, such as Beedrill, Mawille, Glalie, Loppuny and Absol to name a few.

Others I see have no reason to have a mega at all. Those are the Mega's I have a problem with, such as Lucario, Salamence, Metagross and Gengar to name a few.

I think a mega is only truly deserved by Pokémon who Actualy need it, and I'm fine if they keep it that way. Giving Mega's to Pokémon who could have been better, but are not. Pokémon like Mismagius, Ursaring, Ambipom and Driftblim to name a few.

I have no problem with the ammount of mega evolutions; Mega evolutions are cool and all, as long as they don't go around giving Mega's to pointless Pokémon, such as Mamoswine, Ferrothorn, Skarmory or Chandelure to name a few.

So, in conclusion, I only think Pokémon with wasted potential should receive a mega.

 

Totally agree that they should increase with mega evolution for gen 5 and 6 since they only have one each (audino and diancie); but for now, they're trying to focus on the old Pokémon (at least that's what I think ^^; )

 

@Bug Catcher: But where would you draw the line? I think mega evos for every Pokémon line would be pretty cool, especially for more game remakes. I'd love an updated FR/LG!!

 

When I get my Mega Gliscor, they can stop...Just kidding, of course. I don't care when they stop to be honest, too many megas isn't really a problem, in my opinion.

 

Now that they started making Mega Evolutions, GameFreak got themselves into one big problem: they can't stop making them. For example, if they would stop making Mega Evolutions right now, it would be incredibly unfair! Everyone has at least one or two Pokémon they want to see getting a Mega Evolution, so basically they can only satisfy everyone by giving every single Pokémon a Mega Evolution... And I'm honestly okay with that. Mega Evolution is a great and interesting thing, and the designs they get are very unique! I'm excited to see more

 

As long as they bring us actual new Pokémon and not too many mega's at once, I don't have any problems with there being many mega's as long as we keep getting new Pokémon and not too many mega's at once.

 

I don't care about how many megas there are, but I'm worried about something. What if mega evolution becomes the go-to for updating old Pokémon? Some Pokémon need a normal evolution to truly be improved. If there's a third-stage Pokémon who isn't strong enough (like Golem) then go ahead and throw a mega at it. But please don't stop giving older Pokémon new evolutions in exchange for a mega.

 

I don't think you can have too many. Mega Evolutions are awesome and it's so exciting when a new one is announced! I wouldn't mind if they made Megas for almost every single Pokémon, as long as they made normal evolutions as well.

 

We could still have more mega evolutions. I don't know when there will be too many because there are people everywhere that want new mega evolutions for every Pokémon.

also I think the megas system will be for all Pokémon that don't really stand out much or to make
the competitive scene a bit more varied in terms of teams (or it was just a rip off of digimon but that's just me)

 

Mega Evolution is fine by me, as long as it stays unique in some way. I don't really wanna see a mega evo for every single Pokémon, but I would love to see some more Pokémon with a mega evo. Give one to Raichu, for example. I would love that

 

I think mega evolutions will always be fine unless they really start screwing up with the designs and choosing which Pokémon to give megas to (Slowbro and Audino)

 

I could settle with 15-20 more at the most. Until more Mons are made, anything exceeding that number would probably be a bit excessive.

 

I do hope that we get some more Gen 5 and 6 Megas, although I do hope that not every Pokémon ends up getting a Mega. I would like some underused Pokémon to have Megas to give them a boost. Personally I think GameFreak will stop when we have 100 or so Megas, but I honestly don't know. We'll see what the future holds!

 

Mega evolution feels kind of like the true form of the Pokémon, unleashing it's maximum capabilities. Following that line of thoughts, every Pokémon should have a mega evolution. It wouldn't interfere with adding more normal evolutions to Pokémon with megas, since we already have the case of Slowbro's mega.
I can see why people wouldn't want every Pokémon having a mega evolution though. It would make megas less special and such

 

Personally, I never really thought megas were necessary in the first place. However, I do really like how megas can improve underused Pokémon, but with how game freak is going, it's going to be the more powerful, overused popular Pokémon that are getting megas. I personally think when they start creating new, and better Pokémon that megas will become obsolete. But as of now, enough megas are enough when the underused Pokémon that cannot evolve further receive one.

 

I believe they'll stop eventually, but that eventually won't happen without a Mega Mightyena~

I think the point of the whole mega's is to give players a chance to use a Pokémon they've never used before, probably due to weak stats, or something of the sort.

Hopefully, they'll stop after 75 or so, because searching for all of those stones is a bit time consuming.
