How much have you changed since joining Lake Valor?

I have hardly changed because I have been on here for almost two weeks. Although, I think I like Azelf more now

 

Incredibly, when LV began two years ago I was an immature, rude, idiotic person (As you can see not much has changed, jk jk), but now I've improved a lot and become a better, helpful person who wants to do nice things for people. I'm hoping I'll grow and mature even more along with LV.

 

Even though it's been a short 4-5 months, I definitely think I've matured. I feel like my posts have really improved in quality. I really hope that I will continue to grow along with the site.

Well, I cannot remember my first post... XD
But anyway, I do not know if it is a coincidence, but I have become happier and less stressed since I joined Lake Valor. When I first joined, I was a very miserable and pessimistic person. But now I am more positive and satisfied with my life.

 

I've been here for almost half a year, but wow time has flied by. My posting hasn't changed that much, as I have a tendency to blind people with turquoise paragraphs sometimes, but I think the most noticeable change that happened to me while on Lake Valor is that I've allowed myself to just relax and have fun. When I first joined, I rarely used the shoutbox and I mainly posted in the competitive sections because that was the general area that piqued my interest. I also chatted with other members privately for the most part, with the old messaging system that we had. After less than a month or so however, I really started to connect with other members with a variety of different ways. I started using the shoutbox more often, hang out in the games forum occasionally (something I never thought I could do since I really don't like to make short posts), comment on status updates, and I discovered more of my comedic side in the process. In real life, I tend to be a reserved and quiet person, only sociable when necessary. Overtime Lake Valor really helped blossom my inner personality I kept bundled inside and just help myself let go and laugh! I never really became kawaii or shipping crazed until I joined here (Yes I actually was sane in my lifetime). I also tend to have issues trusting people, as I was betrayed by my best friend before, but even in despite of that, I've come to trust virtually all of you as if you were a part of my family. Being on Lake Valor has enabled me to talk honestly to others and not worry so much about my image or how others think of me. I love you guys so much, and I can't image how much I would have missed out if I never was recruited.

Hello Lake Valor community, I'm Bloom and I'm happy to finally introduce myself here! ^-^ I joined right before the server change, so I never really got to make an introduction topic until now. ( I was also on a little vacation as well and couldn't post with my phone, but I don't need to get into detail with that as I'm here now)

I absol-utely adore Pokémon and have been engaged in the franchise since the age of 6. It all started with a holographic Chansey card I received as a little gift from my neighbor. Ever since then I would always try to find out new information about the cards, games, and of course the anime. I also remember doing silly things like memorizing each Pokémon by their Pokédex number and organizing all of the cards I had by HP total. Yup, Pokémon will always be a part of my childhood, but I still love it and can't image life without it.

I am also an artist in the works. I'm not really that talented since I'm still learning the basics, but I am generally pretty decent with Spriting and Photo Editing/Manipulation. My avatar and signature, for example, are recent works of mine I made so my profile wouldn't look unappealing to the site. x-x If you would like any help with Pokémon Spriting you can just ask me since I have lots of experience in that area. =)

Competitive Pokémon battling is another area I adore. I usually check Pokémon Showdown frequently to build teams and battle in various tournaments or just have fun with random friends I meet online. I also have Pokémon X and Y, so I might be able to help anyone who needs a specific kind of Pokémon. I have a lot of IV bred Pokémon to spare.


Anyways, I hope to meet lots of new friends here with similar interests. Hopefully I'll be able to bring some friends along here with me. Also, if you have anything to ask me, don't be shy! I'd love to improve and become a better person, member, and friend to you. See you around the forums!

Well I guess I technically joined in April 2013, but I can't seem to view my stuff from back then.

I've definitely changed since then, but not a whole lot. I've gone through a whole ton emotionally though, more than most other times of my life, which has helped shape me on the inside, I guess. I've learned a lot about who I am as a person.

My posting style has shifted a little too, yeah, I think even just a year ago I used to be a lot more obviously cutesy and flighty in my posts. I have calmed down a lot in just 2014 alone.

 

Oh, I've been looking at my older posts and I had weird habits like putting spaces between letters in words to emphasize them (l i k e t h i s) and I posted lots of weird-looking emoticons like this: =w=;

I don't do that anymore But I do post a lot of Azelf emoticons

 

I have to say, that I have changed a lot since I joined here, even in real life. I've always been social awkward, but since joining here I have noticed that I became more social and not scared of joking around from time to time, this is both here and irl. Because of the social awkwardness, it took me like 2 months to become really active and look where I am now, having a total online time of like 59 days xD So yeah, I really have to say that I changed quite a lot, but for the better

My first post... Ehm... If I remember this correctly, there were no intro threads, but one big welcome thread back then. I'm pretty sure that was my first post and I feel so embarrassed that I introduced myself like this xD

I can't believe that I just went into the deepest parts of the Archive, just to find that post. Actually, I'm glad I did, because now I can laugh at how ridiculous I used to be xD I even managed to misspell my own nickname, capitalizing both B's. But, jokes aside, I'm glad to see that I didn't make any grammar mistakes in my very first post, even though I never actually wrote in English at the time. And the classic "thanx" instead of thanks, which I still do nowadays.

Anyway, after over-analyzing my introduction post, I can safely say that Lake Valor has improved my life a lot. And with a lot, I really mean A LOT. I speak, write and think English as if it's my main language, and it honestly feels like it is a lot of the time. I have friends from all over the world, and I learned how to deal with lots of different kinds of people. So yes, Lake Valor has definitely changed me, and in a good way too!

To be honest, I don't think I've changed drastically since I joined. I've had some drama behind the scenes, but I have learned a few things. Due to some forum drama a while ago, I've learned to not let others opinions change what I do or think, and that's a very valuable lesson in my opinion.
