We've all heard the phrase "practice makes perfect". Of course we all know that sketching will improve your art. But what I want to know is how often do you do you draw? It can even be as simple as a small doodle a day. I would also like to know, do you think the amount you draw in a day/week/etc has improved your art? I try to draw at least once a day. Sometimes if I'm in a class and the lecture that day is extremely boring, I'll doodle on my notes. There are days tho where I take all day to draw! But that's usually on the weekends when I know I have time. I also believe the amount I draw has improved my art. While the improvement is slight, it's still there.
I could do a lot better. I only draw for about an hour on Sundays, or when I'm really inspired. Still, I've seen a lot of improvement in my art. Even though I don't draw often, at least I'm consistent about it.
I feel as if consistency is often the key! Of course, you can always improve if you aren't consistent. But a little is better than nothing!
I usually try to draw at least once a day, even if it's just a few rough anatomy sketches. I'll often draw on my phone when I'm waiting for something or someone, and when I was in school I'd always carry my sketchbook around and draw in class if I had finished my work early. I find I don't draw as much as I used to, and I really need to change that. I need to draw more humans in particular. I suck at them at the moment but I am getting slowly better.
honestly same! i would love to see how your humans progress and improve seeing as how your Pokémon art is drop dead gorgeous already!
Oh Arceus, how long has it been since I sketched any of my Accelgor? That's literally the only thing I draw, and it's been weeks at least. I am positive that if I did draw something every day, then I would improve much better with daily experience points gain, but I simply have so much on my plate and drawing isn't therapeutic for me (yet). Maybe I'll start doodling quick sketches too, even if its simple things like drawing a folded piece of paper, or a pen with its shadow (I'm incredibly not-creative).
I remember your accelgor challenge! it was a super neat idea! and hey even sketching small helps a ton!
I'm the "draw multiple times a week and then not for a month" person I typically don't draw unless I know I have time to finish what I'm doing, so I can end up stuck in a loop of putting off drawing if I'm not careful. I recently started drawing again after like 2 months off, and it feels so good to be back haha.
Not enough as I'd want to. I procrastinate drawing a lot, and I hate it. It probably doesn't help that I outside holidays I can only access my drawing tablet every two weekends... This year, I plan on using my free time at school to sketch traditionally as much as I can. Me having a decent phone now will help as it will have all my references. I should probably aim for at least one doodle a day too. I really hope I'm gonna keep it up...
I draw something every two days at the very least. I have noticed that since I started drawing digitally, I am more consistent with when I draw and how long I draw.
i actually draw every day! ive been making it a habit to at least sketch something every day since the beginning of the year and ive been pretty good with following through with it! due to this ive seen a lot of improvement over the year hooray back when i started digital art id be doing a full piece everyday but ever since i started to take more time to clean up and make the drawing better than ever thats nothing but a memory of the past...... f
I try to fill 1 or half of a page in my sketchbook a day. If I can't get to my sketchbook for reasons (travel, or bad weather during work hours-like today) I use a notebook I keep in my purse for sketches. The notebook isn't a good place for art, and it was intended for notes such as grocery lists, but it works for small sketches. Improvement is a slow thing to notice, however I can say that my anatomy has improved from last year.
Not enough, I want to get better but I forget because I get distracted or don't have the time. Hopefully that'll change since I would love to be able to draw my own OCs.
I always try to draw every single day, either be a sketch or full drawing. Not being able to do it on some days really frustrates me because there's no practice therefore I don't get any better.
It changes. Sometimes there will be periods where I will draw at least once a day every day, other times I will ho weeks without drawing simply because I have no motivation. And I know I have gotten so much better aince the start of the year, but it depends on ehat I'm drawing. Some things are just easier than other.
