Not often due to being broke but I will occasionally buy dirt cheap games on Steam and Humble Bundle if they are interesting to me
I usually just wait until I see something I really want, then depending on the base price I might wait to see if the price drops, then I'll buy it. Usually if it's around the range of $20 or less, I'll just go ahead and grab it. If it's $60 or more, probably the same because a game priced around that is generally good enough that they're not going to lower the price, or at least they won't for a long time. So anything between that, I'll generally wait. If it's a game on steam, I'll wait for a steam sale regardless of the price. So it really just depends on what's available or if anything new is coming out, so the frequency I buy games at tends to vary pretty widely. Around Christmas I ended up buying 4 for myself (well, 3 of those using a gift card/sale) when I probably hadn't bought a game in over a year before that. I have this down to a science!
