How old were you when you got into Pokemon?

Oh god. lol I was 3 years old when I got into Pokémon and that was when gen 1 came out I believe it was the game and the Pokémon themselves is how I became a Pokémon fan. x3 Nah, I think the actions would be the same. Because like I said, it's the game and the Pokémon themselves that got me involved

 

Started when I was 6 with the anime (the original anime), which initially got me into the series. I later acquired my first card; a 1st edition Koffing from a neighbor friend of mine who got me into Pokémon, for the most part. I later bought Blue Version not long after it was released. (I'm old).

Pokémon was such a phenomenon in the late 90s, I really don't think it would be quite the same at all if I started at a different gen/era. Pokémon lost its majority of fans come mid-Gen II (I was one of them, when it came to the anime). As for the games, I did take a hiatus when Gen III arrived, for that's when Pokémon was really at an all-time low.

 

I was 8, and started with Pokémon Pearl. When I was younger I went to summer camp, and would watch the older kids play PMD on their DS's and flip through guidebooks. I remember wanting to play too, haha.

 

I was five when I first got into Pokémon. My first game was Pokémon Sapphire for the Gameboy Advance; to this day Gen 3 is my favourite gen because, simply put, it was the generation that made me into the Pokémon obsessed person I am today.

 

I think seven years old, with the first games from the series. And I saw the anime, as those episodes unfolded too, from the Kanto series. My first experience was with Red, and I think my time with this series would definitely be different had I not been into it earlier.

 

i first played when i was like 13 i am guessing, not much memory of it. i still always enjoy the memories i had playing it

 

I was 9 years old! Got into it in 1999 with the first generation and then quickly fell in love with Johto once those games were released here. Both the anime and games were my obsession and I loved them both equally for getting me into the franchise.. though I also loved the TCG and collected the cards when I could. Always will love anything Pokémon. c8

 

I was about 14-15 and I started with Pokémon HG. I really loved the game and looking back at it, I didn't really understand what was going on most of the time. Typhlosion just used Flamethrower everywhere XD

 

I believe I was around 7 or 8 when I first found out about Pokémon. My neighbour had been playing Pokémon Gold and I asked to give it a try and I got hooked. I then got my own GameBoy and Pokémon Yellow for Christmas soon after that.

 

I was 4 when I was officially hooked on Pokémon. I battled a friend using a borrowed deck in school and I won. In memory of my first victory, he gave me a Meowth card.

 

I don't exactly remember, but I know I was very young. I got a copy of Pokémon Yellow (even though I'm pretty sure that Ruby and Sapphire were out) and a game boy, and so did my brother. We had tons of fun playing together, and I've played the games ever since. My brother doesn't like Pokémon as much anymore, though... :C

 

I believe I was seven years old. I am now twenty-five. Pokémon has been a large part of my life.

 

I've been into Pokémon since I was about 6. I had a Gameboy Advanced and had gotten FireRed. I chose Charmander, and buffed him up to level 100 in the end. (Which is why Charizard is my favorite Pokémon)

 

I remenber I was like 5 years old and I always borrowed Fire Red version from my bro, so it's the first ever Pokémon game I've ever played. Then, my first official game would be Emerald when I was 9 or so. I've loved Pokémon until this day even though I don't play as much as I'd like anymore

 

I started playing Pokémon when I was about 7. I think starting at that age caused my imagination to run wild with Pokémon and make me love it more. If I had started later, I'd probably view it as more of "just a game". When you play it at such a young age, you really feel a part of the world!

 

I was introduced to Pokémon when I was 6 or 7 when the anime first aired. Not long after that, I was collecting the cards and begging my mom to take me to Burger King to get the toys and cards that came with the kids meals. (And that gold carat card they released for a while as well).
Sometime after the Orange Islands arc, I started losing interest and quit watching the show (with the exception of some of the movies).

I didn't play my first game until I was 11 and my best friend sold me an extra copy of Crystal (plus a GB Advance) and I literally played it all night, nonstop. That was pretty much what sparked my re-interest in the series. While I didn't get back into watching the anime until Diamond and Pearl aired, I started collecting cards again and becoming a fan of fanart and people's OC on deviantart.

The Diamond and Pearl games came out not long after that which sparked my love for everything Sinnoh which still hasn't died. haha.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to play any games past GenIV...

I honestly can't imagine what I'd think of it if I never became re-obsessed.

 

I started with Generation 1, back when I was 8 or 9. My first game that I ever played was Pokémon Blue, which a cousin let me borrow, and my first game that I owned myself was Pokémon Yellow. I've been a fan ever since!

 

I was 7 years old when I first saw the original anime series ever since then, I followed the series. I remember, everyone in my school was watching it and we actually 'called' ourselves in Pokémon names by our class/seat number. I was in sit number 25 and remember, how I was happy that time because I am Pikachu haha!

Then early 2000s my dad bought me my first ever console which was the gameboy advance and got Pokémon Gold as my first Pokémon game; which was kinda weird because the cartridge was originally for gameboy haha. Oh dad. xD

I think it would change a bit but there would be definitely still an excitement after all, this is a unique game that has lots of amazing features that a gamer and an anime lover would definitely follow.
