How old were you when you got into Pokemon?

I started watching it when I was 5, but never really started playing it till I was 7.

 

Maybe I'm not such and old fart after all. I started with Gen 1 also, Blue Version. I'm not sure what I started first, the game or the anime, but I know the cards came after both (and stopped before either).

It was probably right around the time that Pokémon arrived in America that I started so... yeah, I was pretty young.

 

I started watching when I was either 2 or 3 years old. The 1st Pokémon movie is one of my earliest memories actually. Named my first dog Pikachu haha.
I started playing when I was about 5-6 I think? Not sure, maybe earlier. But I know I started on the 1st gen, played soooo much of that.

 

I watched the anime when I was younger and I wrote and read fanfictions too, I can't remember how old I was when I started. But I was 14 when I got my first Pokémon game.

 

I was 8 years old when I got into Pokémon.

I'm 24 in August.
So my fandom has been around for 16 years now, haha.

 

I got into it when I got my first game on my 10th birthday, a full set of a gameboy advanced and Pokémon fire red. I was only allowed to play 30 minutes of it a day, but those few minutes were the best. I still have my very first Pokémon, a Venusaur named Zen. I barely even knew what I was doing, but it was still great.

Laughably enough I received a pikachu stuffed animal on my 1st-4th birthday(somewhere around the age of, really young. I don't remember exactly). I liked him, though for the longest time I had no idea what a Pokémon was. He's received some serious beat downs over the years, but I still have the poor thing. A bit faded and worn, though still a favorite.

 

I've been into Pokémon since I was six or seven. I'm twenty five now; Pokémon has been a large part of my childhood and a nostalgia trip for me. I don't think I'll ever give it up entirely.

 

I first started to get into Pokémon when I was around 7 years old. One day I was bored and there was nothing on TV to watch. Then I saw Pokémon and started to watch it because of my boredom (It was an early diamond and pearl contest episode.) I liked it and I kept watching it everyday and then I got into more with Pokémon.

 

Oooh, my memories of Pokémon go far down the line, round about at the age of 5 when I received my first Pokémon game: Fire Red. And I loved every moment I played it. From that day, I kept buying the new games released, enjoying every moment of gameplay. I have no idea why I received Pokémon at five, and whether or not I had asked for my parents to get it, all I remember is the joy of getting it... and nicknaming my Charmander Fire XD

 

I think I was like 12 when I started playing LeafGreen on an emulator at school. I never grew up with it myself, unlike most others. Still, I love the franchise just as much now

 

I was 10 when I got my first Pokémon game, Pokémon Ranger, from Gamestop after I first got my DS. Later on I got Pokémon Pearl, HeartGold, and Platinum. Not long after, I started watching the TV show, and I also got my first pack of Pokémon cards. I didn`t start reading Pokémon manga until I was way older, like about 14.

 

I was 4 years old, and got an old Gameboy and Pokémon Red version. 16 years later I'm still playing Pokémon games and couldn't be happier about it. I do follow the Pokémon Special/Pokémon Adventures manga and actually (sort of) collected the english volumes (I own like, 20 so far...), follow the anime but only selectively watch episodes (usually Gym Battles or important events) but was a faithful watcher of the anime straight until the end of the Sinnoh saga.

Pokémon is easily my favourite fandom, and it all started with a grey brick that ate up 6 batteries a day.

 

I was 10 and got the DS/Pokémon Diamond bundle for X-Mas. I've been a super-religious fan ever since

 

I always watched the shows, but didn't start plating the games until like 7th grade, so I started with SoulSilver... But then I got every game before and HG/SS xD

Around... under the age of 5 or so, maybe? I used to watch the anime back then and had a large collection of the trading cards, but didn't actually start playing the games until I was 9, and gave Pokémon Diamond a whirl after I got it for free. I ended up having a lot more fun than I thought I would, so it sparked my interest in the games by a ton.

 

I've been into Pokémon since about 7-8 years old, when Pokémon anime videos were all around the town, I still remember when I go to my relative or neighbor's house to watch one. It was until about 2004 when I started to play Pokémon in Gen 3, and I started to play it more ever since.

 

I started watching the anime when it was first released in the UK which was 1999 I think? I was only two! Then my first Pokémon game was Pearl which I got in 2008. Yup, I was kind of a late starter for the games.
