How'd you get your computer?

My parents bought me my laptop as a graduation gift, probably much to their regret. I spend waaaaay to much time on it.

 

I got my MacBook for Christmas 2012, well a few days before then even, I had suggested that I wanted a MacBook and my parents thought it would be a good idea to get me one in exchange for not getting anything else from them come Christmas day. So that's how I got this thing.

 

Uhm, by spending €600 euros on it and only getting €450 of that back, before my brother hijacked it and I haven't been on it for the last month... That was one of the worst purchases I've ever made -___-

 

I got my first Macbook as a gift for college. My second one I bought for myself though. I wanted a newer one so I could use the older one for storage.

 

I got my first computer as a gift from my aunt. Then my second one as a Christmas present 2 years ago. Finally my 3rd computer as a gift from my father.

 

I had to buy my laptop myself, naturally. There's no way my parents would ever buy something like that for me. My computer is a whole different story though. My mother initially wanted to throw our computer away, as it was barely used anymore (she has a laptop as well). I came home from school, exactly at the moment she was about to get rid of it. I immediately grabbed my chance, and asked if I could have it. At first, she wasn't sure about it, so I asked if I could check where in my room I could place it. After completely installing the computer in its new location, I knew she just had to agree

 

I got this MacBook for my birthday back in 2010

 

My parents bought me my laptop at Best Buy about 5 months ago after the screen of my original laptop broke.

 

I bought mine three years ago when we moved, because shortly after said move my old computer finally died. Going without a computer was not an option, so I grabbed this one at a local store. The whole thing was only $300, and it's worked fine ever since. Haven't had any problems with the speakers, keyboard, or mouse yet either. This is an eMachine, and I'm definitely sticking with them the next time I need a desktop. .w.b

 

I went to the Mac store and spend like, 1,100 dollars on my new mac. It was awfully expensive...I have no regrets though. Love my Mac to bits and it's been so great and useful to me so far.

 

Well, a family member bought themselves a very, very nice gaming computer a while back. They don't actually play any games, so I'm not entirely sure why. Anyway, when I set my old laptop on fire (it's a long story), they offered to give me their desktop. Now I have a very nice gaming computer.

 

I got my current laptop as a gift this past Christmas, due to my old netbook locking up on me from viruses. It has a much bigger screen and is more up to date than my last one, though, so I might have asked for a new one before long even if my old computer was still functional; this one is much more comfortable to use.

 

My Mac was given to me in a private school I attended from eighth-tenth grade in tenth grade; I think it was paid for in my tuition (which was 20k). My Dell was originally my mom's, but it ended up developing problems (low battery life and a dead screen; it would work if attached to a monitor, but that made it no longer portable), so she bought another laptop and gave the Dell + a monitor to me.

 

Got my most recent laptop after saving up a couple hundred euro. Then in the post-christmas sales my folks backed me what I was lacking and bingo-bango, new laptop for christmas. My folks said that they'll get a new laptop for my 21st birthday next year, so I'm guilty looking forward to that, haha.

 

I got my laptop from my grandmother for free. She was keeping it for me until I was ready, and after much frustration with my parents' computer, I finally decided to take my laptop back in August. Never looked back since.
