Hello. I'm sorry. I've been meanting to write out an introductory post, but real life got in the way of that. I've been a bit distracted and preoccupied all week, waiing on a job offer. Won't know about it until Monday, though, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

So, um, yeah. Howdy all. My name is Wendy and thanks for the invitation to this site. I'm not sure what I can actually say about myself, though, but I'll try.

I'm originally from the US, but I am currently living in Japan. I'm not sure if I'm going to stay here though, because of hte earlier info I already mentioned (job hunting and my visa expires at the end of this month). I've lived and worked in Japan altogether for about four years. Since 2010. I came home in 2011 after the tsunami/earthquake hit and then I returned early 2012 and have been here ever since.

Um, let' s see...when it comes to Pokémon, I am a bit behind. Series wise, I've seen all of the Kanto and Orange Isalnd eps. I've never seen the other series in full. Maybe an ep here or there, but I gradually just lost interest. It took me forever (compared to others) to see all of the Kanto and Orange Island eps. In my area, the show was dropped back in 1999 right after the Princess vs Princess ep. Because of this, I got into fic writing and made up my own story about Ash receiving the earthbadge (very badly written lol). On ff.net I'm known as Relaxing Pikachu.

Game wise, I have played and/or owned...

    Pokémon Red/Blue
    Pokémon TCG (Gameboy Color)
    Pokémon Yellow
    Pokémon Stadium
    Pokémon Stadium 2
    Pokémon Gold
Pokémon Ruby (couldn't get into it, though)
    Pokémon Heart Gold
    Pokémon Black
Pokémon Black 2 (I couldn't really get into it much for some reason)
    Pokémon X

Even though some of the later games are decent, I still have a soft spot for the Gen I stuff. It was nice and simplistic.

Sorry for rambling, I just haven't the slightest idea as to what I can say. lol I would make up a list of things I like, but we'd be here all day, so please feel free to just ask me questions instead. I do much better when asked questions about myself as opposed to trying to think of what to actually say about myself.

Welcome to the site! How are you doing today? I'm jealous, I'd love to live in Japan. I hope you like it there. Anyways, one of the first things I would recommend doing is editing your profile and giving yourself an avatar. It'll help you have a more distinctive look around the community.

If you need any help, just ask! I'll be glad to assist you. :)

Welcome to LV, Wendy! We're really glad to have you. ^_^

It seems hard to find jobs in foreign countries where you don't speak the language very well.. but English teaching jobs seem abundant over there in some situations, though I'm personally not very into teaching. Hope you'll be able to find something! Would stink if you had to return home when you didn't quite want to yet. =(

Please do have a good time here though, yeah? If you need anything you're welcome to ask. Yay for writers too! The more the better. ;P

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone. I do hope to participate more here, even though I'm not really into Pokémon all that much, like say during the Gen I time. ^_^

Bloom: I may have played a few games, but I wouldn't say I'm experienced or anything. lol I played the most during Gen I and II though. I was out of the loop game and anime wise for years, until Heart Gold and Soul Silver came out and I got back into the games because of HG.

As for my living in Japan....it is interesting. lol I don't really do too many things here, though given my job. I don't have as much free time as I'd like, in all honesty. If I had a job like say an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher), I would definitely have a lot more free time to do more. I work for an Eikaiwa (English Conversation School). The days off are far and in between. The workhours can also be a bit insconsistent. That's why I'm job hunting.

For where I'm currently working, the job was supposed to have ended at the end of March, but because my replacement can't come in yet, they asked if I could stay another month. They did all the paper work to extend my visa for an extra month too (it originally was to expire March 27) and extended my work contract, so I'm able to stay here legally for April and can legally job hunt.

That aside, thanks a lot. Hope I get the job I interviewed for. Boy am I nervous.

LunarRabbitPikachu: Hm, for my favorite game, maybe the first Pokémon Stadium or Heart Gold. I'm still sad. I lost my HG cartridge back in 2011 after returning to the US. To date, HG is the only game I've put in a lot of effort to leveling my Pokémon. It's also the only game to date where I had at least one team of lvl 100 Pokémon, which included Togepi. T_T

I'll try sharing my fanfiction...but it's so-so and the Pokémon fics are long gone. I used to write Pokémon fiction back in like 1999/2000 or so. I've been trying to rewrite a couple of them recently, since they were so horribly written, but I don't have all of the chapters of the old copies. I also have some Digimon fics as I'm a fan of that as well.

BeautifulLizardMan: I'm doing okay, thanks. Hope you are as well. I like Japan okay, but there are some things I do miss about home at times, but I don't tend to feel that way until I come across a commercial while watching NCIS or Law & Order SVU on Hulu. lol

AzureEdge: Living in Japan is nice, but it does have its flaws like anyplace. I like the friendliness of the people I've encountered and the welcoming feeling I've had since coming here, and I guess it's due to the fact that I don't live in Tokyo, although, at this point, I kind of wish I did. I want to move there. I think I've been up north enough. lol

Oh, one thing I do think is really awesome here, though, are the convenience stores. They're literally "convenient". You can pick up fruits and vegetables (although they'll be more expensive than if you went to an actual supermarket), you can use a copier, send a fax, pre-order things (I pre-ordered Pokémon Black and Black 2 through the conbini....I went to the actual store for X), you can buy concert tickets, pay bills, etc. It's amazing, really. My culture shock. lol

Sheep: Yes, it's true. It is difficult. I wish I had better Japanese, but having worked in an Eikaiwa, my Japanese level has actually dropped. It's rare I use any Japanese because of this type of job and yes, English-teaching jobs are the ones I'm most qualified for. Actually, back home, I was studying to become a teacher in general, so I do enjoy it. Being an ALT, though (my first time in Japan) was good because my Japanese level was way better. I could use it more because I wasn't surrounded by English all of the time and I had more studying time because I finished work by 4:30 everyday. With this job, I usually don't get home until sometime between 9:30 - 10:00.

Prosecutor: lol Hm, is Japan awesome? I guess. lol I like the onsen and the food. I do wish I could travel around more, though...but with Eikaiwa work, where you work all year round as opposed to ALT or International school work, which get summer and spring holidays as well as other school holidays, it's not as easy to. Hopefully, the next job I'll be able to. I have been to quite a few places though...

    Tokyo

    Osaka
    Kyoto
    Yokohama China Town
    Akihabara
    Harajuku
    Hiroshima
    Himeji
    Nara
    Sendai
Nakano (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE I FOUND SOME GEN I AUTHENTIC Pokémon PLUSHIES!) lol

    etc.

Pariah: Howdy. Being over here is very nice. I like the people and stuff and the decent public transportation compared to Richmond, Virginia, which is where I'm from. The transportation where I am, because it's considered to be "inaka", even though I don't see it that way, is slow compared to like Tokyo, but still better than Richmond and more reliable. The customer service is great and people are usuallhy pretty anxious to help if you need it. I do recommend visiting, though. It's different than if you're actually living here though, but it'd still be a nice experience and you could at least visit one of the Pokémon Centers. Still sucks there's no Nintendo World here.

Yo, welcome! Visiting other countries is a super cool experience, though I've never stayed in one for an extensive amount of time. Have you ever been to any other countries besides Japan and the US?
