I've barely watched any of the Alola series of the anime. (Maybe the first 5 episodes or so.) I know the Pokémon league is happening currently and the last time I checked, Ash's team looked... worse than it usually does by this point. So I decided to check and when scrolling through the page on the fandom wiki, I found this: Spoiler The anime's storyline has split from the games pretty strikingly before, but THIS! This is just BLASPHEMY!
I mean it's still a bag and some say Lillie had far more than enough screentime- but serious why didn't they just say "bag"
Yeah, I heard that Ash was the one who bonded with Nebbie in the anime instead of Lillie. I really don't understand a lot of the decisions they made for the anime this Gen. Admittedly I haven't watched that much of it yet, but from what I've heard it sounds almost nothing like the games it's supposed to be based off of.
They really wasted a golden opportunity for an epic story by turning the epic adventure we know and love into a school comedy.
Considering Lillie is probably my least favorite character in the sun and moon anime (she's just too timid and uncertain about every single little thing for my taste), I seriously don't mind that Nebby was more of Ash's Pokémon than hers. He's always been really great at bonding with Pokémon, and I always like seeing him befriend new ones. (And I never actually played the Sun/Moon games, so I only know of nebby being in Lillie's bag because of all the memes).
