Guys. Communicating is hard, especially if there are words you cannot pronounce no matter how hard you try! Maybe it just comes out funny or it just won't come out at all. I know there are plenty of people with a speech impediment they cannot fix.

Personally, I mispronounce so many words, it is not worth it to remember the amount there are. I think I'm just short of tongue.

Anyhow, do you have a hard time saying some words? What are the words? Why do you think you mispronounce them? I'd love to know!

It may be due to my Northeastern American accent, but with sorts such as "satin" that have a t in the middle, I tend to not pronounce the "t" while enunciating, so I break the word with my throat instead of my tongue. Other words that I have trouble saying include "comfortable", which I'm not sure how anybody says, and "alto" as I pronounce it "all-toe" even though it should be "al-toe". It's not the end of the world, but everybody has their struggles, whether they be as small as this or much bigger.

The hardest word ever is statistics, way too many S' :< Over all I think words with a lot of S' are hard for me, like possession as well.

Comfortable would be "come-for-tuh-bull". I've never heard anyone pronounce it differently.

As for me, I don't think there are many words I pronounce wrong... At least, not in English. I know I pronounce a lot of words wrong in Portuguese, or I used to in the past at least. But as far as English goes, I really can't think of any words I pronounce wrong. I'm sure there's a couple, but I can't think of them whatsoever.

Really? I pronounce comfortable as "cumf-ta-ble". I think it's Australian accent, but it is how I pronounce it.

Jewelry is hard for me to pronounce too, as I always say 'jew-le-ry' instead of 'jewl-ry'.

Other than that, I sometimes produce saliva while I speak, so it does get annoying when I talk.

Literally all the English words. Ironically words ending on 'ally' especially. The English 'r' is also hard to pronounce for some reason. Usually it helps if I talk more slowly, but even then it sounds unnatural. I also suck at tongue twisters. Try saying 'max match' 5 times fast, I can't even do it twice >_>

Well, I have a dead half of my lip. so I have a lot of trouble making sounds that require my lips to actually fully work. For most stuff I can talk out of half my mouth just fine, but for some reason worlds with the letter "L" trouble me greatly. I've managed to work around most words by either pronouncing it close enough that people don't notice or by finding a different word, but some words are impossible. Especially the word llama. Can't say it no matter how hard I try.

Really? Where I live, everyone pronounces it as if it's 3 syllables. "Kumpf-tuh-bull". I've never really heard anyone actually pronounce the "or" sound.

As for myself, I can't think of any particular words I always get wrong, but I often get something akin to verbal dyslexia; where I mix up the beginnings of two words in a phrase. For example, instead of saying "I'm going to walk the dog.", I might say "I'm going to dawk the wog".

Tho my friend did have to point out to me that regime is pronounced "ray-shjeem" and not "re-ji-may'. To be fair I thought it was like resume and I'd never heard the word out loud before.

I know how to pronounce it, but for some reason, I just can't enunciate it, maybe it's the shape of my mouth of something lame like that XD

    oh god yes

My friends catch me all the time. Just some perfectly normal words, that I pronounce completely wrong because my Chinese speaking parents don't say them and books don't have freaking read aloud functions. If your books do, please tell me what books you have. Because I need them.

    pls help

    I pronounce blueberry "blubbery".

    That is all.

    ....

Okay, there's more, but that's what I tell people who talk to me. Since English is nowhere near my first language, I have insane troubles pronouncing some words.

I go out of my way to enunciate words. Specifically the word "your". A lot of English-speaking people around the world I hear pronounce the word "your" more like "yer". I actually say "you-rr", an example of a word for which I've consciously repaired my pronunciation. Any time someone makes me aware I pronounce a word wrong, I actively try to correct it. Right now the only word I know I say wrong and haven't adapted and fixed is "museum", which I pronounce more as "myu-zam" instead of "myu-see-uhm", which is standard where I live. I'll make the change and make it stick one of these days.

One thing that really annoys me: wash. Do you say that word with an invisible R in the middle? Warsh? That one gets on my nerves, and I know a lot of people who say it. Wash does not have an R, do not give it an R, okay?
