I know everyone's gonna mention Gogoat, but keep in mind you probably could only ride him in Lumiose City.

Anyways, I wish it would be like HG/SS where you had your favorite Pokémon in your party follow you around, it would be easier to pull off considering the battle sprites and the in-game sprites will probably be about the same. That being said, I would really love to have Lampent or Litwick with my character. : I

    Anyone else agree?

Yes. That is actually my number one hope for Pokémon X and Y. It was great in Soul Silver when I could turn around and talk to the Pokémon that I'd nick-named and battled with... I think it would be great even if it were something you could toggle on and off.

Yeah, that was one of my favorite features of HG/SS
I hope they bring it back!

It was cool and of course I would want it again but I feel that its not going to happen for a long time. Walking Pokémon is something that kinda defines HG/SS and makes it special and makes you want to replay it. I think they will probably try to keep walking Pokémon a HG/SS exclusive as long as they can.

i would love for it to come back. It was so much fun going around and having that critter follow you. I always figured they didn't imply that in other games because it's probably extra coding or something. So instead of making room for something like that, they'd rather use that spot for something else that was probably more useful.

It would be great, but I agree with RedScizor. Each game/generation had a little something different, that defined it. Walking Pokémon were one of Heart Gold/Soul Silver's things, and I don't feel like they would want to bring it back. It would be great if you could actually see them in, say, the Day Care....but I just don't think they'll bring back walking Pokémon.

But hey, who knows. Maybe they'll prove me wrong!

They didn't not bring it back because they "didn't want to", in my opinion; I think it was the cartridge limitations of the DS, but with this new game, being 3D to the point where you don't need a seperate "battle" and "in-party" sprite for all 800-some Pokémon, they can now be one and the same, so you could actually have the same Pokémon walking with you as they would appear when they are battling. And since they made a lot of the models thanks to working on Pokédex 3D Pro, they have their work cut out for them for the most part.

Yeah. You need to take into account all the 3DS's technology advantages before deciding that it'll be left as a "HG/SS Exclusive" for now.

Exactly; it's 2004 technology vs 2011 technology we're talking here. XP

I would be cool to see your Pokémon walking with you again, and in 3D! Also, if they do bring it back they should change some of the captions to be Pokémon specific (i.e. large Pokémon's comments would be different to the smaller one's). Here's a picture to explain what I'm talking about:

Yes. This feature has to come back!! I really loved wasting time just walking around with my little Spoink following me everywhere. XD If it does happen, in 3D, oh gosh, I would be one happy girl. XD

I say Bring Walking with your Pokémon Back, I think it should also help build a strong bond of friendship this way too.

I really want this back. Maybe you could configure it to where you walk with a certain Pokémon? Like Ash with Pikachu? I'd like to always have my Absol follow me no matter who is at the front of my party.

Same here. I love being able to walk with my favorite Pokémon, but whenever there's some other Pokémon that needs extra training I've got to shove my Umbreon back into her Poke'Ball. I want to be able to train a Pokémon without having to switch the Pokémon walking with me with it.

Game Freak is probably gonna cut out tons of variables in it's coding (showing your surfing Pokémon, etc.) to implement the gross amount of models they're putting into this game. Although, "Companion Walking", as I like to call it, was very endearing feature in HG/SS. It would be awesomely adorable to watch an animation of your favorite Pokémon hugging you. Without it impaling, burning, drowning, electrifying, or flattening you in the process. :P

Imagine high-fiveing your Hariyama, or break dancing with your Hitmontop!
