I used to despise One Piece; now I love it to death!

Reading the title got my hopes up, didn't it? Cries internally.

Yes. I used to really enjoy Attack on Titan, but after reading the manga more and more I got sick of it. I think it's a bit too...I hate to use the word but edgy? I'm just not a big fan of Anime that focus around death constantly, and even though it was pretty cool to see characters ACTUALLY die and not just have everyone survive, it's really not my sort of thing.

The Manga is also pretty awful. The art style is really bad and the storyline seems to be going no where whatsoever. I'm just not confident that this will be as popular if the Anime does return.

We need more One Piece lovers.

 

Are there any anime or manga that you hated or couldn't get through, then tried (again) at a later point and ended up loving? Which ones, and why?

I will say Death Note Manga...I was like..."What the..?". After a few years I gave it another opportunity. My best friend say "You must give it another opportunity". So i said "OK I will". Now, I am pretty obsessed with it, is like "Look this guy he is a shinigami, I know it, he know it, but world must know that he is a shinigami!! We are in danger, we must protect the people from that books!!"

 

Well, there's the iconic Pokémon example. Used to love the anime, but now I really don't care for it. In addition, the original Yugioh occasionally makes me cringe now too, but I still enjoy it most of the time.

 

In all honesty, I used to love Naruto, but as time went on, I began to despise Naruto more than anything else. I felt like the comedic acts and the serious tones of the series didn't mix as well as it should have and was very confusing to watch though.
For me, I used to hate original Yugioh series as a kid, mainly because the same episodes would rerun over and over again. However, nowadays, it's really nice to go back to see how dark the series was. How amazing the plot was, tying in the many aspects like history and mythology.
