If we never got leaks?

There would be no hype. I mean there would be some, but definitely not to the extent that there is now for ORAS. I think Nintendo and Game Freak do an excellent job of teasing the consumers with little spoilers as release date approaches. Businesses understand that their product will sell more if there is a bunch of hype to it.

 

I'd honestly still be hyped because I would be super anxious to see what is new in the games, and the surprise factor once people play the games and find out will blow up.

 

People with brand loyalty would still buy the games, and the good games would spread by word of mouth. So, the only thing that would happen is a crash in day one sales.

 

That would be a terrible decision for Nintendo to make. If there is no information about what the games are going to bring, how are we supposed to get hyped for it? The sales would be severely disappointing, and that might cause them even more trouble. No please, keep the occasional leaks. We need them.

 

If you don't build up the hype by leaking certain things, your games aren't going to sell as much as you want, period.

 

The Advertising is the way that Game Freak obtains its followers and the advertising can have a lot of varieties. As you know there are demos, videos, magazines and too many other elements that allow followers/fans of Pokémon learn something about the product. If Game Freak loses that, their selling will be lesser.

 

While it would be hard to get hyped for the games if there weren't any leaks revealing what was to come, but some people might like going into the games not knowing anything new. But I guess they do need info on features to really be prepared for the releases.

 

As everyone is saying, it's all about advertisement. How am I supposed to get excited for something I don't know anything about? The little leaks are important to get the people hyped.

 

Ehh well, if by "leaks" you mean information that is officially AND unofficially revealed, yeah that'd be awful. Everyone would eventually lose interest; the reason for them slowly divulging more and more information is to keep people excited, after all.

However, if you only mean those unofficial leaks, such as the people who hacked the Demo and released what they found, or even Corocoro's stuff, I probably wouldn't mind. I prefer not to know every last detail about a game before I play it, otherwise I actually feel less hyped about it. It's gotta be a balance between mystery over what I don't know and excitement over what I do know.

Honestly I'm less excited than I was for XY.

 

I have always thought that it would be really funny if we had no leaks and that the games were just randomly released one day.

 

No of course not!
Leaks are a commercial way to buy the game and keep the fans happy!
everyone is satisfied by that!

 

I think it would be really kind of cool if we woke up one day to find that GF released a new Pokémon game. I think that it would be a lot more fun that way except for we wouldn't have all of the anticipation.
