If you were a Gym leader, what type would you choose?

I would definitely be a dark type gym leader, since there really aren't very many (Sydney is the only one I can think of)
I'd have:

-Zoroark
-Honchkrow
-Bisharp
-Weavile
-Tyranitar
-Greninja

And if I had to choose a legendary I would totally choose Darkrai, since Hoopa and Dark type Arceus wouldn't be as fun. I'd likely replace Weavile or Honchkrow to make it more challenging.

 

No they aren't @Kecleon. That's cheating on the trainers. You're supposed to help them grow as Trainers. Not make them run away. Now as for me I'd be a psychic gym leader.

I don't know how everyone is getting those Pokémon so I'll just tell. I'd put on my team

All right, Id like to think Im pretty much a Ghost type specialist .u. Let's say Im Gym leader #7, so I'll probably use 4 Pokémon. My team would probably consist of:

[3D=lampent]

[3D=mismagius]

[3D=sableye]

Ace: [3D=mimikyu]

If Z-Crystals were allowed, Mimikyu would hold Ghostium Z

And in the event of a rematch, like some games do:

[3D=chandelure] Item: Wise Glasses

[3D=banette] Item: Banettite

[3D=mismagius] Item: Life Orb

[3D=gourgeist-super] Item: Sitrus Berry

[3D=sableye] Item: Leftovers

Ace: [3D=mimikyu] Item: Ghostium Z

Like the original post said, I'd love to be a dark type and am somewhat salty over no dark gym. (On the other hand, would be too invested in the gym and might cry over it like Alolan Persian)

My line up would be:

Mightyena, Houndoom, and Sableye.

Then you could come back and fight me later:

Mightyena, Houndoom, Sableye, Sharpedo, and Honchkrow.

 

If I had a choice in which type I specialized in, I would either have no specialty, or I would be an Ice Gym Leader. In the case of the latter, my team would have Abomasnow, Lapras, Frosslass, Mamoswine, and Mega Glalie since I have that very team on Showdown and I would have Kyurem either in the front or in the back if I could have a Legend (most likely Black Kyurem). But if I could do Double or Triple Battles, I would probably be using a Ground Type EQ gym with a Flygon.

If it was based off my favorite type, it would be Dragon, but if it was based of my favorite Pokémon, it would either be Dark for Zoroark, or Fighting or Steel for Lucario.

Now if it was based off my personality, I would use Ice and Fire together. Ice because I can be pretty chill most of the time, but when I do get angry.... Well, let's just say I have a tendency to blow up.

One thing's for sure, no matter what type I would specialize in, I would definitely have plenty of dual types.

 

I'm stuck between picking Ghost, Dark, or Psychic, as those are the usual ones I main.

If you could be a Pokémon Gym leader, what type would you choose? What would be your dream team? Bearing in mind it's your job to ultimately fail against most combatants, but there's nothing stopping you giving them a hard time! So obviously no legendaries

Also, if you could pick any town or city from any of the main games (taking over the current gym if there is one), which one would you choose, and why?

I would personally become an Electric-type gym leader. Simply because that's my favourite type, as electric Pokémon look really cool, I love zapping foes into paralysis and I've always loved the idea of using electricity as a tool of combat (It's my go to choice for a superpower, Palpatine-esque)

As for location, I would probably choose Blackthorn City, as I love the Johto region and I would know to expect a good fight from the protagonist at this stage in the game.

My team would consist of the following:

Jolteon - Super fast and really cool looking fur!
Raichu - Cute, and my favourite Pokémon
Electivire - This is where I dish out some serious damage. Also, his Ice Punch will make using Ground types against me a little less of a breeze
Luxray - Awesome high Attack stat
Magnezone - Many resistances. With Sturdy, he will not faint in 1 hit, and therefore I will DEFINITELY be paralyzing at least one of the protagonists Pokémon. With Magnet Rise, for the next 5 turns (?) Ground types are useless I'm afraid Only fire and fighting are getting you through this match
Emolga - Super cute and another reason for the combatant to not rely heavily on Ground types

Assume that you can pick any non-legendary Pokémon regardless of region

I'd probably be a co gym leader with a friend, kind of like liza and tate. We would both use a combination of fire and dragon types just to keep things interesting. As for the team, we'd change it based on the number of badges you had, kinda like in origins.

 

If I were a gym leader, I would definitely specialize in fire types. I have somewhat of a short temper, and I get very passionate and "fired up" when I'm determined about something.

My team would be

I dunno about others, but my favorite type is Fairy, so I'd naturally go with that.

This'll probably be my team if I were a Fairy Gym Leader:

Sylveon - EEVEELUTIONS ARE LIFE
Togekiss - Can have Flamethrower so I can deal with all the Steel Types
Gardevoir (Mega) - Has Psychic. I'm looking at you, Poison Types!
Florges - Grass Type moves it could use against Water/Ice that try to take out Togekiss
Alolan Ninetales - Looks fab af and one of my fave Pokés soo...
Primarina - My favorite starter, plus the Water makes it resist Steel.

But if Fairy Type wasn't on the list, I'd probably be an Ice Type Gym Leader cause Ice is my second favorite.

Jynx - Sweet Kiss? Can you deal with that?
Froslass - Ghost Typing makes it easier to deal with Fighting Types

Fairy and grass types.
Also, I wouldn't mind focusing on water types.
But, if I have to choose one, definitely Fairy types! Sylveon first! Then, Jigglypuff.

 

I would very likely have a Dark-type gym. I tend to use Dark types a lot of the time, so yeah.

Fire. Because I have SO many fire puns, and I like a lot of the Fire types XD

 

I know it's obvious but yes I would definitely have a gym full of Fairy type Pokémon and those Pokémon similar to the fairy types. My team would consist of my mvp Sylveon, Gardevoir or Gallade with a mega stone, Florges, and Diancie also with a mega stone and since gym leaders usually have about 3-4 Pokémon Diancie may or may not be eligible to battle. My badge would be called the Ever-After Badge since fairytales end with "Happily Ever After" and I would hope that my gym could be called the Magenta or Cerise Gym.

 

Gallade isn't Fairy type so just Gardevoir for that one. Otherwise, cool.
