Immortality

I wouldn't like to be immortal. It would probably be one of the loneliest things that could ever happen. Sure, I'm interested to see how the world will change in the future. However, just like what you said, having to watch everyone I love die is too heart-breaking. If I wanted to live forever, I'm probably going to have to be alone forever as well—so that I wouldn't have to go through that pain. I would rather live a normal life where I am able to love freely, complete my goal in life, and die with a satisfied look on my face.

 

I'd like to be immortal to an extent. Eventually, I'd get tired of life and would want to pull the plug. Living a couple thousand years would be fair enough to me. Who knows though, if I had a change of heart later down the road, maybe I'd want to live on 5ever.

 

I've been reading the Bane Chronicles and the Infernal Devices and I know from those that immortality would suck. Except for fellow immortals, all your friends and your loved ones would die while you lived on. I honestly thinks that living forever wouldn't be worth the trade-off of watching the people you love die. I'd want to live a normal life alongside my friends and family, even if some day that means someday I would die.

 

I could only accept Immortality if there were someone else as well. Like if my future wife could be immortal, then at least I'd have someone to share the experiences with

 

I'd want to live forever. I know for sure I would have a severely emotionally distressing time, but I would be able to watch mankind's innovations; watch all the new technology as it is produced. Sure, making friends would not be an option, but to be honest, I'm okay with that. Call me unsociable if you wish, but that's just how I am.

 

I would not want to be immortal, not at all. I honestly don't want to know what humanity will do to this planet in the future, but I'm sure it can't be good. I don't think I could make a significant change to the world, even if time wouldn't be a problem anymore. And seeing everyone you love grow up is great and all, but they'll all die too. I would become an outsider to everyone, being the only one who doesn't grow older, and the only one to never die. In a way, you could question if you'd still be human if you were to become immortal, or even if you're alive at all. Death is a certain event in the life of every living being, but since you don't die, that means you're not a living being...

Long story short, I don't want immortality. Someone else can take it from me

 

I wouldn't like to be immortal because I would have to live with my mistakes for the rest of my life. Everyone I love would die around me over and over. It would be terrible and just heart-breaking. I could never grow old, and I'd loose more than half my friends.

 

I used to love the idea of immortality but recently as I've been developing relationships i realized that I would never be able to lose loved ones, like I can't even live with my pets dying geez, so,my answer is I would do it if my gf could be too (tfw no gf)

 

I'd hate it. I couldn't watch myself outlive everyone I know I love. That's actually one of my fears, everyone I love dying and me outliving them. I'm the kind of person who gets attached to people and things really quickly (still working on it, but I still do,) I couldn't take that. Sure, it may seem awesome and all at first, but if you really think about it, then you'll see it's really much harder to bear than it seems. I may like it at first, but after a while you'll see me trying any and everything to be able to die again.
I'm only human, and there's only so much a human girl like me can take.
I could sit there and yes, I'd use it to maybe improve mankind and witness their advancements, but when it comes to outliving all my friends and family, then I wouldn't want it.

 

I'd hate it. All the people you love would die and you couldn't do anything about it.

 

Hmm... in a world where everybody was immortal, I'd say yes, but apart from that, I'm not sure. I'd like it, because I could continue tasting of the different things in life, but it'd also be depressing to lose those close to you, time and time again. I'm really conflicted about it, so I think I'd pass on immortality if it was brought to me.

 

If everyone was immortal, maybe so. But if it was just me, I'd say no. I don't think I'd be able to live with myself forever, haha. Not to mention watching everyone around me die, and then that happening over and over again.

 

Never. Never ever ever would I want immortality. Living forever with all my crippling self-doubts and loneliness haunting me forever? Never.

 

Yeah, I'd take this as long as my family and friends could too. Why the heck not?

 

If I had the chance to be immortal then I would refuse, death is a natural part of life and I don't want to change that balance. Plus it would be lonely if your friends or family aren't immortal as well.

 

I couldn't watch everyone around me die, so I'll say no. I don't think it's worth it if I have to sit by as all my friends and family die and I'm left alone. To be honest I don't want to even out live my parents.

 

I feel like immortality would be awful. Sometimes just living through a day can be painful and feel worthless and living forever would have so many of those days. They'd build up and it would be awful.
There'd no doubt be people who would hate you and try to hurt you for having immortality too, I wouldn't want to have to deal with that >_>

 

Code Geass pretty much said that all immortals want to die. :[

That being said, if I could become immortal, I would so do it, before shedding all fragments of my humanity.
Inciting rebellions and starting wars would be pretty cool. Also, I could eat as much SPAM as I ever wanted. <3

I could even buy all the SPAM in the world!

 

I.. would say probably not. Can't even imagine outliving all my friends/family and watching the world move on as my life stands still. Living forever seems tempting at first but the more I think of it the more I say I wouldn't want it.

But if there's an alternative where I can eat anything I want and stay healthy forever, lemme have it heh.
