About participation & Scramble Points – How to help your team! If we want to win the Summer Scramble, we need Scramble Points. These are gained when you participate to an event – no need to win it! I’m saying this because some events, like Golem’s Guess that Cry, get only a few participants – the ones who are really interested and/or are more experienced. This is causes a loss of Points that could have been, if not easily, at least not so hardly obtained otherwise. And we don’t want that, do we? That’s why I will do my best to write down here some (hopefully) helpful advice about how you can participate in each event! Arcanine’s Arcade Adventure (link) This one is easy – as long as you can play the game (with Flash n stuff), you can help the team! Even if the score you get isn’t good at all, as long as you submit it, you get a Point! Houndoom’s Shiny Hunt (link) This one is a bit harder. RNG is a big part of getting shinies – if you’re too unlucky, you can’t help it, as well as if you don’t own an eligible game. All I can say is, if you’ve got free time, you can consider at least trying to shiny hunt, with any method you’d prefer; you never know when shinies can show up. Also, remember: only the first shiny counts to get a Point – and there is a new event each week (so more Points you can get)! Golem’s Guess That Cry (link) If you’re not familiar with Pokémon’s cries like me, I understand you could wonder how you could be any help. But here, you don’t even need to guess a cry to get a Point – you can just help by discussing! (Not spamming or anything ofc.) For example, if you see people suggest different mons for a cry, you can try to compare them and give your opinion! Pikachu’s Picture Challenge (link) This one is pretty easy too. As long as you’ve got something that can take decent photos, you’re good to go! If you’re confused by the theme, no worries – just think about the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear "Summer"! If you’re able to take a picture of it, go ahead and submit to get your Point. You don’t even need to be "good" at photography – as I said earlier, there is no need to win the event! Also, don’t forget to put your username on the pic or to take another one right after with it if you’re afraid it could ruin your photo. Whimsicott’s Writing Challenge (link) A thing to remember, again: even if you think your writing isn’t good at all, it doesn’t matter! You do not need to win the event to help your team. As bad as your work may look to you, submit it anyway – it’ll be one more Point earned! And if you need some encouragements to reveal your story to the world, don’t hesitate to ask for opinions or advice in our dedicated thread – we’ll be happy to help you, and you may be surprised to see that your creation isn’t as bad as you think! Summer Scramble Showdown (link) Of course, if you’re not into competitive battling at all, helping out seems really hard. But there are still some things you can do to get a Point, like joining the Nickname Squad or checking the team to be sure it doesn’t break any rules! Also, remember that a new team needs to be built each week, so that's more Points to earn. Ditto’s Pokémon Design (link) There are lots of things that need to be taken care of in this event, so you have more opportunities to get your Point! We’ve done quite a lot atm, but that doesn’t mean you can’t help. If you’re an artist, even if the artists for the "official art" have already been chosen, you can still make art on your own! If you’re not an artist, you can still make suggestions for the design, what the cry could sound like (even make it yourself if you can!), etc. So many possibilities. Croconaw’s Construct a Type (link) Our type is the Forged type; you can check the details in our thread. If you don’t want to try balancing it or something (I think we’re almost done with this anyway), there are other things you can do, like finding Pokémon that could have this type, maybe quickly design new Pokémon for it (no need to go full Ditto’s Pokémon Design), go for what Hrae suggested, "what's the types primary role in battle, the average stats of it, moves, general color schemes", anything you can think of. Basculin’s Beach Art Challenge (link) You may think your art isn’t good enough, or maybe you’re not even an artist. But I say it doesn’t matter! You can still draw something (even with just a pencil), as long as you put effort into it, the art doesn’t need to be "good enough" to get a Point! And don’t worry if you can’t make it have a transparent background – we can! If you want, you can even ask me (as I’ll be putting every piece together at the end) to make your drawing small or far away ;D Altaria’s AMA (link) This one is fairly easy, as long as you’ve got Discord. Just ask a question (whatever you can think of). You get a Point for participating (asking just one question). But if you ask every staff member, you’ll get 5! Update! Now, if you join late, you can still get your Points! You just need to ask a question to at least one member of each staff group! Looker’s Mysteries (link) This one is a bit special. Here, only the answers give the team Points – so we do need to win. But everyone works together, so helpful participation does count too! While some puzzles may be hard, some are easier, so watch out for them! Here! That took quite a lot of time to write, so I really hope it’ll be helpful~
