Take me out... through the black... tell 'em I ain't coming back...
    Into the Black
    A Sci-Fi Roleplay
    Backstory
The year is 2147. Mankind has researched and created spacefaring vehicles, and has expanded to the stars. Alien civilisations have been met, and relationships formed. Allies, Enemies, you name it. However, mankind had made one key enemy in particular - the Vorons. Mankind was about to lose one of their most important historical grounds, and they didn't even know it...

It all happened in the blink of an eye. A large, Voron ship approached Sol, home system of the Human species, protected by a Cloaking device. They had been developing this weapon for years now... It was their time to strike back against the scourge that was the human race.
The ship uncloaked, and readied their weapon to fire. The Sol protection fleet picked it up on their sensors all too late... there was nothing they could have done to stop it.

The Voron ship fired. A huge, purple beam was drawn across space. The beam hit Sol's sun.

    ...Nothing...

At first, it seemed that nothing had happened. "Perhaps their weapon didn't work properly?" some may have said. But... it did. Exactly 1 minute and 14 seconds after the beam had hit, the Sun disappeared from the system. Or at least, appeared to disappear. In fact, the sun had been replaced by a large Singularity.

It was only moments before the entire of the Sol system had been eaten by the singularity...

...However, the Vorons' weapon had, indeed, not functioned correctly. Rather than forming an Unstable singularity, destroying everything that enters the Event horizon, they had formed a Stable Singularity - A wormhole. And while any planets or huge ships would have been ripped to shreds from the sheer force of the phenomena, it's entirely possible some ships may have survived...

What would await them on the other side? Only those who passed through safely would find out...

    Information
This roleplay has no set storyline. You can participate as a Human from Earth, coming through the wormhole into an unknown region of space, or you could participate as an alien race, found on the other side of the singularity, having seen a large amount of debris spewing out of a newly formed wormhole. The choice is yours, as long as it makes sense!

    Rules
    1. Character Profiles are required - You must fill out a Character Profile to participate in this Roleplay. This is for other people to refer to so they understand how to react to your character. The form can be found here.
    2. No Godmodding - This should be obvious, don't take control of other people's characters without their consent.
    3. Two Week Rule - This should be obvious too, if you're inactive for a week on this thread, you will receive a PM from myself informing you of your inactivity. If you do not respond for another week, your characters will be considered killed. If you have a specific reason for inactivity, try to fit it into the story if you can (Unexplained disappearance, etc.), but definately let people know by saying so using ((Out of Character)) quotes.
    4. Maximum of Four important characters - Important Characters refering to Characters you directly play as. If, for example, you have a large cruiser ship with a huge crew, you could have a Captain, Second in Command, Engineer, and another Character. You can have an unlimited number of generic crew members, but they should not (often) play important roles.
    5. Must have decent enough (at least) grammar - Spelling mistakes are okay, and punctuation isn't too important, but make sure you're good at typing clearly!
    6. Nothing lasts forever - Even if your ship is the most revolutionary of its time, it will still have problems from time to time. Maintenance will need to be carried out, and things can (And should) go wrong. If you've been through a fight, your ship will be damaged, and you should keep that in mind. You cannot just magically repair a crippled ship.
    7. No Mary Sues - This refers to ships as well. You cannot, for example, have a ship that can fire a beam that destroys everything, while behind an impenetrable shield, while it's also invisible. I shouldn't have to elaborate on this...
Anyone breaking the rules will be sent a PM by myself, and you will have three warnings before being excluded from the Roleplay.

Now, with that out of the way, time for the story to commence!

    Roleplay is now Commencing!
    ---

    ...Darkness...

Suddenly, Harley woke from his unconsiousness, his head searing with pain. He looked around. He was still in the Hummingbird, thankfully. All he could hear was the Ship's alarm system, with the computer chirping in with "WARNING" every few seconds.

He dragged himself forwards to the Pilot's chair, looking up to the screens to analyse the situation... but nothing on here made sense. It couldn't be correct... Then, as if on queue, his companion, JH-74 walked into the cockpit through the door.

"Ah! Mr. Turner! You're awake! Thank goodness... I managed to get the Life Support systems back online, are you alright?" he said in his own computerized way. Harley responded with "Y-yeah... I think so... W...What's going on?"

"Well, I'm not entirely sure myself, sir. I am able to recall us refuelling the Hummingbird, when suddenly I felt a great lurch, and then I must have been powered off somehow. I soon reactivated to find the Life Support offline, and yourself unconsious here. Thankfully, the damage doesn't appear to be extensive, although the main engine Semiconducter has been completely destroyed - We can't activate the Hyperdrive without it." he finished.

"...So we're in a bad way... nothing new there then." Harley replied, the pain in his head easing slightly. He turned to the pilot's console, which, thankfully still worked, and brought up the Communications panel, before broadcasting an automated distress call to the vicinity. He then limped down to the Medbay, assisted by J.

"THIS IS AN AUTOMATED DISTRESS MESSAGE FROM THE SHIP "XR-01 'HUMMINGBIRD'". THE SHIP IS IN DISTRESS AND REQUIRES ASSISTANCE. PLEASE RESPOND ON THIS FREQUENCY. MESSAGE REPEATS. THIS IS AN AUTOMATED DISTRESS MESSAGE..."

    ---

Around an hour later, there was still no responses. Was there nobody around? Harley, now feeling much better having been treated in the Medbay, walked back onto the bridge, sat at the Pilot's console, and started checking some things. J did the same, sitting in the Co-Pilot's seat instead.

"Hmm... According to this... we're in a completely uncharted region of space. The star patterns don't match up to any known patterns..." Harley said to his companion, who then replied with "There also appears to be a large amount of debris around us... Scans indicate Ship wreckages... and... oh no..." J's robotic tone soon turned serious. "Sir, this asteroid field... it's Earth. It's as if it's been shattered to pieces..."

Harley paused. Earth... had been destroyed... He'd never been to Earth before, but he knew the entire human race owed it's existence to that single planet...

"...Let's try and find some species somewhere, maybe they'll be able to shed some light on the situation... Hopefully at least the universal translation systems built in to the comms system will work with species from this part of space too..." He said, taking the helm and flying towards a nearby planet with a few asteroids orbiting. He then broadcasted a signal once again, this time with the unvisersal translation system online.

"This is the Ship 'Hummingbird' broadcasting on all frequencies, if anyone can hear this message, I urge you to respond, we require assistance. We can offer supplies in return, such as food or water. Please respond." he said into the Comms system, his voice being projected through space for anyone with a radio transmitter to pick up.

"...Hopefully someone or something'll pick up..." he said softly, sitting back into the seat.

The Aasgeier seeing a bunch of ship parts floating around decided to risk going near the ship to gather materials. So they start scavenging around all the area, collecting pieces of the ships that didn't make it through in one piece. "So many wonderful scraps! Maybe I can make a new or better Stinger!" They say to themself. (That's what they call their gun)
