"Thanks..." Maya smiled as she located her own guitar backstage. "I'm still wondering if this is a dream or not..."

We'll discuss getting a bass of my own later...for now, I've gotta focus on my own solo! she reminded herself.

"Heh, thanks Chief," Kai rubbed his nose with the side of his index finger. "You should've seen how Nora and I came up with that song, y'know," he smugly added, all while having Nora doing her best impression of a tomato right behind him.

"Oho! I would have loved to!" Robyn said with clasped hands.

"Now that is smug," Robin remarked, smiling at Nora's face. Now he was really curious as to what was on Nora's mind, as was Robyn. Was it something that Nora was embarrassed about? "Tell us more, sometime."

As for Maya, the stage was set for her.

More cheers rang through the air as Maya returned to the stage with guitar in tow. This time, she had a different song in mind--"Awaiting Clear Skies" from the up and coming band Li-reed. The song worked very well for a solo acoustic guitar and voice, if Maya said so herself.

"Well..." still with a rather smug face and his arms folded, Kai turned to the white-haired boy. "You've seen it already. Chief was out when it happened, remember?" the brunet said, referring to that one sibling banter in the last meeting.

It was then that Robin froze and reacted in the same manner that Robyn would have when she forgot or missed something. "Uh..." Robin muttered. Gosh, the smugness in Kai's face was annoying! "Ah, you mean that time when I filled in for Robyn. Heh, the only one who would have missed out was our club leader then." Robin found it adorable that Nora would be blushing, nonetheless. Did she like receiving compliments for her brother? Or was her brother just teasing her?

Speaking of the club leader, who had yet to hear about how Nora and Kai came up with the song, Robyn was watching the livestream of Maya amid Maya's voice and acoustic guitar tunes. Playing as a solo worked for this song! As well, Robyn kept an eye on the comments for feedback. That, and Robyn couldn't stop bobbing her head to what Maya was playing. The style was catchy.

    "So cuuuuute!"
    "Maya-chan has skills"
"Ylisstol High better make it to Summer Scramble!"
    "Wonder where they'll perform next"
    "Will they be pro idols?"
    "They have stage names!!"
    "Han-san no. 1"
    "No! Ch1ptune no. 1"
    "It's obviously Reflet"
    "Do you ship Reflet?"
    "Nah maybe"

"Outplayed by Han-San," Tamal said, barely stifling a laugh behind that sentence meant for Robin.

Alex on the other hand remained quiet and focused on the screen of the livestream. Although Maya's cover was calming and energizing at once - she could probably chart the curve of the expected music numbers' energy levels and see if they had an efficient lineup later on. Though... some of those comments brought some quiet thoughts to the front of her mind. ...She'd deal with those after the concert. She was onstage soon.

"Aye," the wide grin still refused to leave Kai's face as he said it. Judging from how flustered Robin was (and how it was comparable to Robyn's own moments), the twin-like antics of both Robyins clearly didn't go unnoticed unless you're super duper dense.

Like Tamal, Nora could barely stifle a laugh at his comment. She knew he actually meant Big Han-san since her dear brother was the one doing the so-called "outplaying" part, but still...

Nora then went on to check her violin once again. It looked like the E string was about to unravel but she had no time to restring it before the group songs, so her best "solution" at the moment would be playing the high notes on A string instead of E. Oh dear...

    (Super duper dense, indeed)

    @ChocoChicken @WavePearl @SAF

Did Tamal literally just roast Robin? If Robin didn't know better, then that was exactly that. Robin could only stay silent, save for taking deep breaths to regain his cool. With a red face (although not as red as Nora's), Robin turned his attention back to the livestream in time for Maya to conclude her performance. If his mind wasn't so distracted, he would have asked Alexa what was on her mind.

Neither did Robin realise that his reaction was about as identical as it could be for Robyn. The reason, probably, was because it came naturally to him.

Robyn noticed some panic in Nora's eyes as the smaller Hansen looked troubled, seeing she was quietly keeping to herself. "Um, everything okay, Nora-chan?" Robyn asked.

Out on stage, the cheering continued as Maya completed her performance. As it died down, Maya was granted a window to head backstage to prepare for the remaining performances.

"Huh?" Nora had been busy practicing her shifting on the A string when Robyn's concern got to her. Again. "I- I'm okay, senpai. Really!" the first-year Hansen quipped, though her tone seemed to betray her words at this point. After all, how was she supposed to restring that one pesky E string that's about to snap anytime soon in such a short time?

Alex popped up to attention, placing the livestream back down now that Maya was soon to return backstage - and soon noticed the younger violinist's frazzled state. "Nora, please just tell us. We can get a window of time before the next performance."

She did note the younger girl uncomfortably moving her fingers along her instrument. "...Is there something wrong with it? You can just sing for the last two songs if there is - you do know the lyrics for the last parts of each song, right?"

Did Robyn just imagine Nora's tone to be shaky? (Also, Robyn couldn't help but squeal internally at being called 'senpai') Thankfully, Alexa had also joined her in checking on Nora. Now that Robyn had a closer look at Nora, she saw the E string unravelling. She was about to ask Nora for what was going on, but Alex had beat her to it. If there was anything that was causing Nora's tone to falter, Robyn wanted to know. What was happening?

Oh, great. Now Alex's worried too. "Actually, I think a string's about to snap soon," Nora turned her gaze on the nearly unraveling string. But then she quickly perked up in spite of her worry that it might snap while on stage. "But hey, it's okay. I'll manage," she assured both Alex and Robyn (who happened to be nearby).

"Really, now? Which one's snapping again?" Kai butted in. Of course it would get his attention, though unlike the girls, he jumped straight to technicalities. "The E one -- almost. But I can shift on A," his sister half-replied, half-assured. Keyword: "almost", because the afflicted violin string hadn't really snapped yet for now. And by "shift", she meant moving her fingering hand up to a higher position on the fingerboard to play the higher notes -- which was what she'd been practicing awhile ago.

    (How shifting on violin works)

Maya returned backstage to find everyone crowded around Nora. She figured the commotion had something to do with a broken string, or how to prevent one. If this was a guitar string, she could fix it, but violin strings were a whole different matter.

Okay, Nora had a point there. Neither siblings were sure about guitars, but shifting was supposed to be a temporary solution until a violinist could replace their violin's problematic string (unless it's the G one). With that and the fact that restringing would take some time in mind, plus having noticed Maya's return, Kai turned to Robyn with a question: "Hey Chief, how long do we have?"

Unfortunately for Maya, there was nothing she could do since the problem was about a nearly unraveling violin string.

"Maya, Robyn, you think someone can go for a quick encore if needed, just to buy time?" Alex chipped in. Nora could back out of using the violin and mouth words as needed for Six, but there was the problem of the song before it making much heavier use of her instrument that they couldn't cut it out of that one.

(As it happens, I wanted to have Robyn perform here as an afterthought, so this works well! Also, I have also played violin in 3rd position as well when my E string goes flat)

    @SAF @ChocoChicken @WavePearl

Looking at Kai first and then Alex, it looked like Robyn had something to say but didn't have the courage to say it. It was like whatever was on her mind, she had to say it out. "We have... I don't know, three minutes?"

"You want to perform again, don't you?" Robin said. "A solo, I mean."

Robyn nodded silently. She looked at Alex. "I could go out there to buy us time, if everyone's okay with it?"

Maya swallowed hard--she hadn't counted on an instrumental mishap to potentially spoil the show. "I'm not sure how much time we'll need, but if it keeps the show going, go for it."

(That's the idea. Third position or not, Nora knows what she's doing even if it makes even less sense to everyone else. And one more Reflet show shouldn't hurt.)

Robyn's initiative was now met with a grateful look from the Hansen siblings. I mean, last time the club met, they didn't really factor Robyn's solo in due to her then-current mood (and Naga knew when she would fully recover at that time). "Welp, thanks Chief," the older brother said. Gotta give their leader a chance, bucko.

With what little time Robyn (hopefully) would get from this, Nora immediately removed the old E string and took out a new one...
