"It's pronounced 'Router', not 'Rooter'!"

I've always pronounced it as [router]. I personally think [rooter] sounds kind of weird, but that's probably because I never heard anyone calling it that xD Pronounciations always differ across the world, so it's only natural that it would have different ways to be pronounced. I don't think it really matters though; I would still understand it if they'd call it a [rooter].

 

I used to say "rooter" back when I had gotten one for the first time, but ever since then I've always pronounced it as the default "router" (or "rouder" with the slight accent thrown in).

 

I call it a "router," because I'm American and I do and say American things. "Rooter" spelled out just looks weird to me.

 

It's router to me, always has been. But next time I'm pissed off at it I'll call it a Rooter, that'll show it.

 

I pronounce it the "U.S" version. Much like I pronounce it "route" instead of "root".

That being said, information from a router is being routed, not "rooted".

 

I say router, too. I've never really called it rooter. Rooter looks odd.

 

Always "Rooter" because that's just how British people tend to say it. Unless you live in the east, in which case it's "Roo-uh".

 

Being from Quebec, the french province of Canada, 'ou' is pronounced like [oo], but I'm also bilingual (Obviously) so technically I say both, depending on what language I'm currently speaking. Sometimes we{My family} murder the word by saying [router] in french too, and that sounds weird!

On another note, I've always said 'Hee-ro-bra-ine', which is apparently a combination of how American and British people pronounced it. ('Hee-ro-brin' and 'Heh-ro-bra-ine')

 

I say Router, since it's spelled that way. Also, considering I live in an American household, I've never heard Rooter. Router is just something that was something kind of naturally put into my head. Go router!
