So this was an idea from high school when I received a challenge on FanFiction. The challenge was to create a new region in the Pokémon world with either new or existing Pokémon. I decided on new Pokémon, and with the help of two of my friends, we created a total of 59 Pokémon. My friend was working on about 30 new ones (accounting for the new Fairy-type), but he hasn't had the time to work on it. Anyways, here are the details.

    Region Name: Rosharr

    Professor: Edward C. Dare

Starters: Seedree (Grass), Emberlin (Fire/Rock), Stonish (Water/Poison)

Seedree is a small, humanoid Pokémon that loves to steal things, especially from its own trainer. After evolving, it becomes a Grass/Dark type.

Emberlin is a goblin/gremlin-like Pokémon, and its body is made entirely of molten rock. It retains its typing through all evolutions.

Stonish is a fish Pokémon that looks like it's made of stone. This confuses many to think that it's a Water/Rock type, but in fact the spines on its back contain a very potent poison.

If anyone's interested, I'd be willing to share some more details like the story and the Legendary Pokémon of the region.

Sounds cool! Clever Prof. name too lol. I've made a region up as well with a friend, but sadly it's somewhat died since we made it into a group on dA and it never really got any interest. Coming up with new Pokémon is fun though, and I still do every so often.

I'd be interested in seeing pictures of the starters (and any other Pokémon you created), That seems to be the fun of an expanding world is the creativity it can invoke in it's fans

I came up with my own region too. I call it the Atlantica Islands. A region where most Pokémon designated as legendary Pokémon aren't really legendary. Such 'legendary' Pokémon include Celebi, Articuno, Raikou, Jirachi, Victini, Mewtwo.... (yes, I said Mewtwo), Mew, Meloetta and it's even where Suicune are really from rather than Johto. The starter Pokémon are these Eevee (Normal with either Run Away or it's DW ability Anticipation), Ralts (Psychic/Fairy Synchronize or DW ability Telepathy Takes normal damage from Poison-type attacks rather than being weak against them due to being part Fairy) and Pikachu (Electric Static or DW ability Lightningrod) Starters with their DW abilities come in a Dream Ball rather than a Pokéball.

Unfortunately, the professor there rotates every year from either Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh or Unova. The only Pokémon that are true legendary Pokémon are Arceus, Dialga, Palkia, Giritina, Zekrom, Reshiram, Yveltal and Xerneas. The rest are rare, but not super rare. Plus you can shiny Pokémon there too. Even shiny 'legendary' Pokémon too. :D

Okay, since you guys have shown some interest, I'll share a bit more info with you guys. I haven't been able to draw up any of the starters-I tried drawing Seedree a couple times, but it did not end well-but I have worked on how they are supposed to look.

Seedree are small humanoid Pokémon with green skin like a sprouting plant-and it's just as fragile. They have four digits on both hands and feet, which are pointed like claws. They have an appearance similar to thieves and assassins, with a cowl and robe made of plant material (e.g. leaves, vines, and thick grasses). They also wear pants/trousers made out of flexible tree bark that they can break off and use for attacks.

At level 18, Seedree will evolve into Sapleteur, a Grass/Dark type Pokémon. Sapleteur's skin is still green but a lighter, paler shade. Their skin is not as frail as it once was, but it can still catch fire pretty easily. Sapletuer stand at about 5' 4", making them seem more human-like in appearance, and they can understand some human speech. They still retain their cowl and robe, now fitted to their size, but their tree bark pants are replaced with more plant material. Females have a different appearance; thinner and more feminine.

And finally, at level 36 it evolves into its final form, Fortree. Fortree is now similar in appearance to an elderly tree spirit, as its entire body is made of tree bark. On its arms, legs, and back are several conifer leaves, with which it can shoot them out or move them to different parts of its body (i.e. hands and feet) to strike a stinging blow to enemies. It also has a Hidden Ability similar to Darmanitan's Zen Mode or Aegislash's Stance Change, allowing it to transform into a large conifer tree-covering every part of its body except for its arms and legs-and swapping its high Attack and HP stats with its above average defenses.

I haven't worked on the Emberlin or Stonish lines yet, but here's a basic description:

Emberlin evolves into Terrogre, growing larger and also becoming a bit more human-like. Its body is still covered in molten rock, but its more loose like lava and pieces of it will fall off and eventually cool off (but not before setting off a few fires). If it is hit with a Water-type attack, which it is most weak to, it will completely harden into stone, and the only way to revive it is by breaking off enough stone to release the still hot magma inside its body.

Finally it evolves into the terrible Explotroll (still working on the names). It now stands in a hunched position, thanks to the two small volcanoes on its shoulders. Its body is now mostly stone, but magma will still flow over its body to keep itself from burning out completely. Explotroll's hidden ability is akin to the ability Speed Boost, but with a twist: instead of increasing speed, Explotroll's HA will actually decrease speed by one stage, but will increase its defenses by one stage each.

As for the Stonish line, it needs more work.

Also, some extra information on Professor Dare (by the way, if you didn't get it earlier, his name is a play on cedar). Professor Dare is more loose than the other professors, but doesn't do much fieldwork like Prof. Birch. Dare's profession is with Pokémon fossils and the ancient world. Some of the questions he's asked include, "What Pokémon have we yet to see?" and "Do revived Pokémon naturally have their Rock-typing, or do they gain it through the revival process?"

If you guys want, I can elaborate a bit more. What else would you like to know? I got the evil team, I got some more Pokémon, there's the legendary of the region, I even have the story written out in full, including a post-game event.

Oooh nice, I tried that once but I kinda got away from that idea somehow, guess I lost interest in it. But I still have one of the characters around, the professor, pretty much everything else have been scrapped.

Wish you the best of luck with this huge project.

Oh, and just so you know, my new image is actually a map of the Rosharr region. It's not detailed, but the different colors represent different area types:
    Light Blue-Lake
    Blue-Ocean
    Green-Forest/Grassy
    Dark Green-Forest
    Light Green-Grassy
    Brown-Mountains
    Tan-Desert

Cool! I'm currently making my own region with one of my friends, but not much work is going into it right now, as I'm kinda stuck xD But yeah, yours sounds really interesting! :D
