    This is something I've been wondering about for quite a while, after one of my teachers addressed it.
    In the Netherlands, the majority of the employees at supermarkets are below 18 (they earn less money than adults, of course). You can start working at a supermarket from the age of fifteen, but there are also possibilities to work at an earlier age, such as delivering newspapers and helping out at the local plantation.
    However, my teacher also told us that this is quite unique. He said there aren't many countries in the world were so many kids under 18 have a job.
    Let's fact-check that ^^

    How's the situation in your country? Can you get a job if you're 18 or younger? Do you know many people who are under 18 and have a job? Where do they work? Would you want to work if you were younger than 18?

    In Australia, we're legally allowed to apply for a job at the age of 14 years and 9 months, but if your family owns a business (like a good friend of mine) you can start earlier and still get payed.

    Shove that in your teacher's lie-hole!

    Here in Britain, you can get lower interactive jobs like paper rounds at the age of 13 (I think) and an interactive job (cafes etc.) At 15...

    I think...

    In america, I think 16 is the age for most jobs. Some might require 18, or be 18 by preference of the employer though. However, agricultural jobs have no age limit on their employees. You can start whenever in that, so I got a job at a greenhouse when i was 14.

    Over here in the US, jobs are scarce for people under 16 years old. I believe AMC Theaters accepts 14+ year olds as employee's, they're pretty much it

    For where I live in the USA, you can get a job as young as 14, but there are a ton of work restrictions until you turn 18. Mostly just due to child labor laws, and some safety laws, as well. Other states are different, so it really varies depending on where you live. Typically the youngest age you can get a job at in the USA is 14, though.

    I know I got my first job when I was 17, so I was just barely under 18 years old. That was just working at my taekwondo dojo teaching the younger kids, though, so it wasn't anything too intensive. Now, if I was younger than 18, I would probably have liked to work in a library, since I work at one now and I really love it.

    There are lots of people at school who have part-time jobs, I've seen them working at retail. 15 was the age when I got a job for the first time, it was at a small restaurant.

    In Australia, the minimum age is 14 and 8 months. Off course, it isn't compulsory, and money received will be less, but some families like to give their children experience for the future. At our school, once students reach Year 10, it is compulsory to apply for work experience. Students aren't allowed to work in their families' relative's businesses, however (which doesn't help me by any chance).

    I don't plan to get a job that early, but if I want to, I would love to work at animal/farm sanctuaries or EB Games!

    I know where I live, most jobs you can get as a minor are 16+ as an age limit. Most of my peers that have part-time jobs usually work in places in the mall such as stores like Hot Topic, Forever 21, or Tilly's. Others work in fast food joints like in food courts or places like Wendy's.

    Here, in Sri Lanka, you cannot be paid any salary until you are 18. That said, the law regarding it isn't very actively enforced and it's quite common to see small workplaces that usually go unnoticed employ children. It is illegal and so I've never had a job, as I am but 16 at the moment.

    Since I'm from NL too, it's the same for me. It's cool because you have a lot of different jobs to choose from when you turn 16. Too bad I don't have the stamina or the social skills to get a job yet. Rather than going to university, I probably will be getting a full time job at a gas station or a convenience store as I lack the motivation to do any more studying after this for a while ;;

    Here in India, you should be of 18 to do job. If a person below 18 does job it is said to be a crime. But in some of backward villages people below 18 works and no one stops them.
