Kalos=Eurpoe

Well, Kalos is shaped perfectly like France. Also, the Eiffel Tower is in Kalos. I think that enough is evidence enough to know that X and Y was based off of France. I would say France, not all of Europe though. It might have small sections of other countries, but its mainly France.

 

It's based off the country of France, which is a country in Europe; so to some degree, you are correct. As far as an entire continent being based on one game, that's a bit excessive. There needs to be some leeway in future generations.

 

Just look at Prism Tower. It's pretty much a knock-off of the Eiffel Tower, haha. And quite a few NPCs like Sycamore speak in French.

 

Kalos was confirmed to be based of French and they did make it really obvious with things like Prism Tower xD

 

It was confirmed a while back that Kalos was based off areas in North France and Jersey, especially with things like Prism Tower and the Stonhenge thing in Geosenge Town.

 

Was there ever any doubt? xD

 

I mean, I'm pretty sure it was considering the mentioned how much inspiration they took from it, some of the folks at Game Freak even travelled to Paris to get inspiration for the games.
