Kalos Region Discussion

I like the new region! It looks pretty big, and there's part of it that they haven't shown us yet, the part among the clouds? I wonder how they'll make boundaries though, since Kalos doesn't seem to be an island, for a change. Huge, unhikable mountains? The typical sea, surrounded by stones?

 

Oh man, I am so psyched for this game. Loving the new region, although I do hope it's big enough to keep me occupied, for a while. Other games I seemed to breeze through, fairly quickly. Hopefully, there's plenty to explore!

 

I think it looks really cool. Big with tons of variety.

So it's basically an altered Europe. I had a hunch it would be. Nonetheless, it certainly makes it interesting to see what this region will be like.

 

I thought it was a bit funny when Karos was revealed to be the Japanese name for Kalos.

But, judging from the Roselia statue, there will be Pokémon from previous generations in the game before you beat the Elite 4, unlike Black and White where you only had access to 5th gen Pokémon until you reached the Poketransfer lab.

 

I supose that maybe, if you have 3 different areas in the pokédex, all Pokémon can be catched before passing the elite four.

 

Totally loving this region! I'm guessing the starter town would be that one just below the fountain in the map.
It would be great if there's also a few floors or something that has binoculars so you could see the view from different heights from the tower, also a see-through elevator that lets you see the view below as you go up and up.
That mountain in the corner of the map is shrouded by clouds, hmm...
Perhaps it's Xerneas or Yveltal's place?

 

Where is the starter town/city?

 

Did you guys notice that in the corner there's something that looks kinda like Stonehenge? Pretty cool I'd say.

 

I'll go out on a limb and say the home town is at the northern point of the region. This region is going to have so much variety it'll be almost unbearable (in a good way), and hopefully the storyline and animated cutscenes in these games are even better than in Gen V. That's going to take a LOT though!

 

I love the region too; rather curious to see what the other cities/towns are based off of (for example, I think the pod-desert place is loosely based off of CERN).

I'm crossing my fingers that there will be an awesome ghost-type gym somewhere since it's been a while since we've last seen one.

 

You know the city that was shown in the game play trailer?
I get the feeling that city is going to be based on Paris. You can see that Eiffel Tower like thing in the background to the city, and it looked like it was going to be the main city of the game. Otherwise why would they have based the entire game play trailer on it? Well, what better city to be the main city of the game based on Europe than Paris?

 

This region looks great. In my opinion it's the first one to look like it could be an actual place. Looking forward to it.

 

I love the way all the towns and sceneries and such looks, but I'm not a big fan of the map. For those of you in America, I think that map looks a little.. Fisher Price-y. It looks like something that would be on the back of the box of a small child's toy.

Though, I like how it's bigger than most regions! It doesnt seem as small to me like the others. ouo
