Doors. Cars. Houses. Mailboxes. All of these things are locked (and unlocked) by keys. And, oftentimes, we have to carry them around everywhere.

Without getting into the detail of what kinds of keys people have (as that would be prying), I am curious: How do you store your keys? Do you store them all in one big ring? Do you keep them separated by groups? And when you are out and about on your daily business, exactly where do you keep them? But most importantly of all, is one of us secretly a janitor, who holds ultimate wisdom on how keys are to be stored and carried about?

    I'll start.

To start, I keep all my keys on a ring. Also, I am the kind of person who keeps everything in pockets. I originally kept my keys in my pockets like everything else, but after a long while, I found that the keys were making holes in my pockets, just by the shaking and jangling about. I have since moved my keyring to inside my wallet (there is a small air pocket after it folds up, which is about the right size for my keyring) so as to spare my pockets further abuse, but recently, the seam on the inside of my wallet has begun to fray as well, so I will have to find a new solution, or get a new wallet...or, most likely, both.

Feel free to say as much or as little as you please. If this topic is in the wrong section, I apologize; move it if you must.

I have a keyring attached to a lanyard that has both my important keys- the key to the dorm room and the key to the safe. The keys get stuffed into my pocket, letting the lanyard hang out.

I keep mine in my bag, in one of the small pouches it has. It's so small that holes aren't made, but big enough to keep keys in.
Keys have never been that important to me, honestly. When I'm older, I'm sure they will be.

I don't really have any keys that I use, weirdly. I know if I did have them I would lose them ALL the time. It would suck, haha. I'm way too clumsy so me with keys sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

I keep my keys organized nicely. I have my car keys on one big ring, and my house key and others on a smaller ring attached to the big ring. This all sits nicely in my left pocket next to my wallet. I don't normally have a problem with them making noise, so I don't have to do anything else with them.

I have all my keys all on one keyring, aside my work locker keys which are separate for good reason. Keys are kept in my front pockets at all times.

I don't really have many keys, minus a house key. I've never really needed keys, (such as how I didn't use my locker back in secondary school), but for the single key I own (as mentioned, a house key), I have a few keyrings attached to it, which doesn't serve much purpose other than my own visual amusement.

The only key I carry is a single house key so that I can get in from school every day; I always keep that thing in a keyring, which is hooked onto my backpack most of the time. Sometimes in the past, though, I've clumsily left the key somewhere in my room and gone on to school without it. ;; I try to be more responsible with keeping track of it to make sure that doesn't happen anymore.

I only have my room key to look after at the moment. It's attached to a keyring shaped like a circle with a spinning turtle in the centre. When I go out, I either keep it in my pocket or in my bag when I don't have pockets. When I'm at home, it'll usually be either on my desk or stuck to my doorknob if I'm lazy. I trust my housemates that much to not steal my key.

I have my two house keys on a small ring that I keep in my backpack. I mainly use my key to my dad's house, as that's where I go after school when I get off the bus.

My keys are cluttered. I keep them in my purse usually with 4-5 keys on a ring connected to a bracelet. Pretty ordinary, but it's the only way I store them. Two for my house, one for my friend's house, one for my mom's car as a spare, and a few other spare keys for my parents.

I hate my keys. They're so bland.
But honestly, that's the reason why keychains were made. I decorate my keys with my keychains, and I'm a proud owner of keychains imported from Japan! That's right, anime keychiains!

I have the key to my dorm room in my pocket at pretty much all times, except when i'm at my parents' house and don't need it (but I leave it there until we return to college). But when i'm about to shower, I just take my key with me anyway and put it in that room. I very nearly locked myself out of my room with only a towel wrapped around myself not once, but twice. Lul.

I only have my house keys and a key for my letterbox (which doesn't work since someone tried to pry it open with force). They're on a key ring with an orange dutch clog with the letter 'N' which is the beginning of my real name.
