(Yea, so I guess since i hadn't done a blog in a while I had forgotten how the rules of blogs worked... well, here it is again for anyone who read of didn't read it.)

So, I was having a listen to the Kirby Super Star Ultra OST and I overthought something with one of the tracks. The file select screen.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFBl4EgOWG0&list=PL896E20E708AD3741&index=2
So, if you notice, there is something that sounds kinda similar to a clock ticking in the background. I'm sure that was in there for added effect, but what if it wasn't.
Think about this, the file select screen and the game select screen are both on a corkboard, with each one pinned up in various places. What if this was intentional?

What if Super Star and Super Star Ultra are a child's Kirby stories?

So, hear me out on this, it's quite circumstantial. So, of course there is Spring Breeze, which is the classic Kirby storyline with Dedede stealing food and Kirby trying to get it back/ But think about the other stories. They are so different from the usual Kirby.

Dynablade, the fact that there was no Dedede as the villian and instead a peeved off bird who Kirby then helps clam down and feed the Dynablade chicks. First of all, the evil without meaning to or neutral villain thing is what happens in some fanfics, especially when a person wants to have their favourite villain be not as morally unjust as originally (like those villain X reader thing :annoyed: ). But also DynaBlade's design. Doesn't DynaBlade look, kinda robotic. Just saying, what if the DynaBlade model is something that the kid built himself and is fighting Kirby against?

So, back to the corkboard thing. The corkboards could be a way for the kid to remember his place in each of these fanfictions. I know what it is like to try and remember so many details, I've had to write notes on what has happened and what is going to in my Pokémon fanfic. So, maybe these are him keeping his notes for what he had already covered and what to cover next.

Next story, Gourmet Race. First of all, the premise of the villain and hero challenging each other to a fun little competition, doesn't that sound like a fan story again? Also, the original Mario Kart was released four years before that, with Mario inviting Bowser to a friendly Go-kart match with neither of them trying to kill each other (well, within reason). So, what if the kid went and saw this game and though "Why can't Kirby and Dedede just have a friendly match about what they both enjoy, food?"

The great Cave Offensive. Kirby falls into an Alice in Wonderland like hole and is transported into another world... That isn't my entire argument, but come on, just, this story premise. Also, once again, there are many mechanics that are quite different from the original game, especially the idea of a dungeon crawl for treasure. And think about this, the treasure is based mostly on other Nintendo franchises. I know Kirby games have made reference to a few other Nintendo games in the past, the Kirby and Metroid universe shown to co-exist in one game. But all this stuff, I think that this kid has gone and had Kirby find different pieces of Nintendo treasure, with the idea that each time Kirby goes back in to find more pieces of treasure being a "this story needs more" vibe to it.

Meta Knight's Revenge is a difficult one to explain, other than it being a seeming sequel to DynaBlade. I guess it explore a bit into Meta Knight's lore and it tries to create an interesting idea of meta Knight and his crew, but there isn't a huge amount I can say with this one. I will point out once again unconventional mechanic of a time limit in this, but again, not much to go on here...

Milky Way Wishes. Okay, this one, this one is interesting. What ifs. What if Kirby suddenly lost his ability to copy enemies at will and had to "upgrade" himself by finding the abilities. What if there is a bigger evil out there than King Dedede and Nightmare Enterprises (yes, I referenced the anime, deal with it.) This one is interesting in numerous ways. Also, the storyline. Kirby meets OC, OC tells Kirby about some great power, OC villain turns out to be evil and manipulates Kirby and things, Kirby finally destroys OC villain. Once again, this one is more based on the plot than other details, but the plot sure seems like a What If story to me.

Finally, the Arena. I'm just going to use this by referring to Super Smash Bros. Although All Star Mode was not introduced until Melee, what I'm going to refer to here is the fact that Smash is clearly based on a child's imagination as well, and the Arena, where Kirby faces off against numerous enemies with limited health, is similar to many ways to the All Star mode from Smash. What is this is the same kid, and after having thought about Kirby going up against multiple bosses with limited durability he decided that the Smash fantasies should do this as well.

So, what did you guys think of my theory? Does it make sense? Are there things you'd like to add?

(I only played Super Star on SNES, which I think is mostly the same as the DS one, but bear with me on any differences)

For another thing, the clock ticking sound could be the penultimate boss at the end of MWW. The giant clock dude who grants wishes? What if it's just another dream (a recurring Kirby theme) inspired by ambient sounds wherever Kirby decided to take a nap that day. He hears the clock ticking, the clock becomes part of his dream. Or maybe he was just writing a fanfic featuring decorations around his house/room. Maybe the clock and the admittedly robotic-looking dynablade are parts of a cookoo clock in his house? This also agrees with how you noticed the villains are either not actual villains (like dynablade just protecting her young), or aren't actively opposing Kirby. Kirby's so young that he hasn't had time to gain actual opposers to his attempts at protecting dreamland. Just strangers he's having misunderstandings with and pals who he's playing games with (like in Gourmet Race).

As for the rest of the stories, maybe these aren't fanfics being recorded and organized on a corkboard, but instead Kirby's dreams? After all, the ending of MWW has Kirby waking up from a dream (if I recall), and your Alice in The Great Cave Wonderland also sounds like a pretty easy intro to a dream, as well as its various mentions to Kirby's pals in other Nintendo worlds (which are shown to be traversable in Smash).

So here's my connecting theory to yours: Kirby has many dreams that are inspired by things going on around him (like the cookoo clock featuring the MWW wishing clock and dynablade), and by his adventures with faraway friends he may not have seen in a long time. Those dreams he decides to note and organize on a corkboard, which he uses to keep track of his fanfics since he's too young to have adventures of his own. On top of that, I suppose you could say the player's gameplay is either reliving Kirby's source material dreams or reading his stories.

How do you think these blend in to your ideas?

Wow, I didn't actually remember the full ending of Milky Way Wishes, but... that actually makes a lot more sense. DynaBlade has that one attack where he head springs at you like a cuckoo clock bird's little spring or something. And that makes a lot of sense in terms of the AiW hole thing, since, well, it was all a dream. Ad the Milky Way Wishes thing about Nova, if you look at Marx as well, his hat looks kind of like one of those weird sleeping caps you see and almost looks like Sleep Kirby's cap. I think your idea has more credibility than mine.
