Lack of Camera feature?

I actually really don't know. I would love a camera feature though, it would give us the ability to take snapshots of our favorite moments in Pokémon. If it was a feature that you could use during battles, then I'd be overjoyed!

I'm not exactly sure why that hasn't been added yet, but Gamefreak should look into it!

 

It's a feature that I haven't really thought of until now, but yes it would be very convenient to be able to take screenshots of your game at any point. I think it would be amazing tHowever, this is a feature that has nothing to do with the Pokémon games itself, it's just something that is convenient to some of the people playing the game. And, since it's not necessary to the Pokémon game, it's just not GameFreak's priority, which I fully understand. I think it's a feature that we might get in a later game though, and I'm definitely looking forward to that time!

 

Game Freak's stupid, that's why. Perhaps it's a space issue? The Pokémon games are already rather large file size-wise, so it's possible adding the ability to screenshot at any point will make it even bigger. If it doesn't have an effect (or adds a teensy bit extra space), I can't explain it. That being said, there's sort of a special feel to having a limit to where you can take photos. It encourages me to take photos when I reach those spots. If I can screenshot wherever I want, then there's really no point, now is there?

 

I would love to be able to take photos of my Pokémon like in the field and stuff so i could do a journey documentation with my team which could be really useful, kinda like heartgold + soulsilver could take photos with your Pokémon

 

Has anybody tried using the Photo Share feature to take a picture in the Pokémon games?

 

I think it might have to do simply because Gamefreak might not be thinking to add something like that in every game, since it seems like such a "small" mechanic that would barely be used. I think the reasoning behind them having it in HG/SS was to showcase the over-world sprites, while the usage in X/Y was to represent the "tourism" aspect of France.

That all being said, I miss having the ability to take pictures along my journey in OR/AS. I have come across a lot of areas in the game that I would have liked taking a picture of, and as a result resorted to using my camera phone to take pictures of the neat sights. There is the ability to take pictures in contests, which makes sense since you'd want to take pics of your Pokémon preforming (or is that just me?), but I would like it if they added a feature like that into more games with more accessibility because of the sights people like me want to hold onto forever.

 

I'd really like to see a screenshot feature at some point, especially since I'm the kind of person to liveblog/livetweet games and taking camera phone pictures gets kind of inconvenient sometimes. :T But I can also see why it wouldn't be a priority for Gamefreak.

^ I was a bit disappointed by the lack of photo spots in ORAS like there were in XY, too. Hoenn is so pretty, especially in 3D, so why not?

 

I do wish that they had a camera feature like XY did, there are so many good places that they could have had photo ops! I am a bit sad that they left that out of the games, it could have made for some amazing screenshots. Still, you can take photos of your Pokémon in contests, so at least that's something.
