LEAST Favorite Moves?

Simple Beam. It changes the ability of your oppenent temporarily, nothing else. What's more, it can backfire on you if the opponent has stat boosting moves, because Simple doubles the effectiveness of stat changes, positive or negative. Incredibly lame. Also not a fan of Swagger with the way it makes the Pokémon stronger. Sure, it will potentially damage itself at a higher rate, but confusion is temporary, the stat change, unless it's lowered by a move, is not for the rest of the battle. No thanks.

 

I hate Swagger. Yeah, it makes opponents confused, but most of the time when an opponent is confused they can still pull off a couple hits. When a Pokémon that was confused with Swagger hits, they hit hard. Why? That's because the stupid move boosts their attack. Yeah, it makes sense that there would be some sort of backfire to go with the advantage, but in terms of usefulness you're better off with Confuse Ray.

 

To be honest... I hate Thief - all it does is stealing your opponents held item - but what your opponent doesn't have any held items? Then, Thief, doesn't do anything... ._.

 

Well, it does do some Dark type damage whether the other Pokémon has an item or not, but it's not exactly very good damage. Not nothing, but nothing special.

 

I agree with what's mentioned above. They're pretty annoying, but another move I don't like is Frustration. It's so frustrating!!! Haha! XD Puns aside, it may be strong for the first few battles, but over time, your Pokémon WILL like you and making it hate you is harder than using Return instead.

 

Pursuit >:L That move... is so infuriating. It's evil. I hate it because there's always that one Pokémon that knows it and they always smash my poor psychic or ghost Pokémon T__T Or it kills the Pokémon that has little to no HP, and when I go to switch them out, BAM! Dead Pokémon is very much dead. The poor critter.

 

I definitely agree with all of the above. Agility. I never saw the use of Agility. Yeah, sure, your Pokémon is faster, but you wasted a turn getting it faster that I used to hurt you. You get your first hit on me, I get my second, and possibly winning, hit on you. Agility, and speed raising and lowering moves in general, always seemed useless to me. Other stats, like Attack and Defense, are perfectly logical. But speed? Eh..

 

I love agility! I guess I've always been a speed freak, probably why I suck at competitive...

I've always hated smog. Its a base power of only 20, and chance of poison... and they give it to my poor houndour. And I dunno, it just annoys me

 

I've gotta go with Present, I WANT THEIR HP DOWN, NOT UP!

 

xD I agree with you there, Garuda. It's a very annoying move, and whenever I use it, it benefits my opponent.

 

Attract is my Least favorite move. This move is probably the most annoying move that only trolls and douche bags would use in a strategy. You are always immobilized with Love and by the time you do get to attack you Miss or you dont kill it and it kills you. Sigh..i hate that move..its useful..but probably the most annoying in the game.

 

I agree with pretty much everything everyone else mentioned. I'll add Endeavor to the list. It's a good move, but super annoying when you're out training and keep running into Staravia or Tranquill and they managed to hang on with one HP left. Then they use Endeavor, which leaves you with one HP also, and you've got to run back to the Poke Center to heal before continuing your training.

 

Cut. I hate it. Yeah, I know you need it at some point to proceed but as you get further into the game, there won't be that many trees that really had to be cut and it wastes my Pokémon's move slot. The items that are usually behind those annoying trees aren't that rare or valuable anyways. Why bother teaching it to any of my party members if even Tackle is stronger than Cut? (At least in gen 5 it is)

 

Astonish
I mean, how does it even work?
How can a Zubat, use Astonish on an Alakazam, who has like 5000 IQ, and still be super effective?
How does Zubat Astonish anything it all, does he do a random card trick or something? xD

 

Splash is pretty useless as everyone would know. Does anyone here see the point in Splash?

 

For some reason I dislike the moves that lower the opponents stats (e.g. growl, tail whip). I never use them ... I know they are probably very helpful in defeating enemies but all I wanna do is ATTAAAACK!
