There're a lot of different types of games out there and not every genre appeals to every person, and the reason for the dislike can vary just as much. Which genres, as broad or specific as you want, do you personally not enjoy? Are there any games within the genre that are an exception to you? Is there a reason for your dislike of them, or do you just find them kind of boring?

As for myself, I can't seem to get into 2D platformers, arcade style fighting games or beat em ups. I don't find them very fun and I'm not usually very good at them to top it off, though I have come across one or two that I've enjoyed a bit. Code of Princess was a beat em up I enjoyed for a while, until I hit a boss I couldn't get past for the life of me ;;orz

    How about you guys?

FPSes--while gunning down enemies can be fun at first, there's not usually very much strategy involved.

RPGs with a city building mechanic--so what if I need to build my town hall to lv. 5 to see the next part of the story--I want to see the next part of the story.

I don't like rhythm games. I have trouble keeping up with it and remembering a pattern

Competitive PvP, especially games with ranking systems. Examples are CS:GO, LoL, Dota 2, and others where half the community is a delightful bunch of spoiled, belligerent children whose minds are slowly corrupted by the need to win every game, every time.

I really can't get into 1st person shooters and I usually don't get into 2D platformers that much. Also games like LoL and such just don't interest me.

I'd have to say the 2D-style arcade fighting games such as Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Injustice, etc. While the games have a definite appeal, a great soundtrack, and a complex combo system, I just never find myself having any fun while playing them. This is probably because I don't want to learn ∞ combos in order to beat somebody who wins by button mashing. I'm also not a huge fan of online games such as DOTA and LOL, not sure why, probably because my computer is stupid and can't process them well.

Not a fan of MOBA games such as LoL or Dota, don't even need to speak much about that. I tried giving LoL a few chances, but the game itself doesn't appeal to me, and the community itself is shit.
As previously mentioned, 2-D games in general (platformers, arcade games, fighting games, etc.) are also a genre that come to mind. They just tend to get boring after a while. However, some of them are actually really great, such as Megaman. There's also an Astro Boy game I downloaded for GBA last week and I've been playing that recently. I beat it after a little while and it was really fun, the story was great and well made. Some 2-D games are can be done really well, can't deny that.
Another genre that doesn't appeal to me, which used to appeal to me but doesn't anymore, is turn-based RPG games. Of course, I'm not saying turn-based RPG games are bad, because I love games like Final Fantasy, but there came a point in my life where I decided I hate waiting for my turn to attack. It's probably one of the main reasons as to why I can't enjoy playing Pokémon anymore.

Either music or FPS, I couldn't get into Guitar Hero or Rock Band worth crap, and common FPS with the exception of few are just bland.

I'm a big rythm game geek. I'll play any rythm game, really. I completely love them, and it's normally the only genre I can really get into. Same with RPGs.

I'm not a big fan of FPS games, however. I've played and enjoyed games like Borderlands and Left for Dead 2, but those are pretty much the only exception. I like to play them as party games, but if you leave me alone with a console, those games would probably be my last choice.

I can't get myself to enjoy any FPS's, fighting games(besides Mortal Kombat and SSB), music games, and puzzle games.

I also have a slight distaste for 2D platformers because of my sheer hatred for Lion King on the Sega Genesis(damn you, stampede level!).

I can't stand Rhythm or Hidden Object. Just... no. Keep those away from me. I would literally rather watch paint dry than play a hidden object game. Literally.

Contrary to a lot of people above, I really enjoy (some) FPS and 2D Platformers (if they're made well). I make FPS better by not just being run-and-gun, but use stealth, diversion, and traps to my advantage, even if the game didn't mean it to be played that way. 2D platformers in recent years I agree tend to suck, but things like Super Mario 3 and the earlier Donkey Kong Country games, those are loads of fun.

My least favourite gaming genres would have to be First Person Shooters. The idea of killing people with guns as a game sickens me, and I doubt they would be fun for the innocent girl like me! Though I do admit I have played some, and excuse me, while I did find them kind of fun... they were not for me as I always lost. :(

I also don't like games like League of Legends or those kinds of multiplayer games. I don't like the idea of playing with a lot of people when you may also be busy, and when you log off, it may ruin it for the other people.

The games where you have to build your own city are also games which do not interest me. Things like (Red Ant?) and that castle game where you have to literally build your own empire.
