So this is a debate about the animal activist organization PeTA. http://www.peta.org/

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PeTA is a non profit animal activist/rights/protection organization which operates all over the world. Sound great? Well it would be if they didnt have whole controversy thing going on.

For those who do not know the controversy around PeTA, basically they have made multiple ridiculous statements about protecting animals, real or not.

    Some of their acts are:

Making a scene about a rat killing scene in battlefield.

Making multiple videogames, from poor animals perspective such as: Pokémon Black and Blue, Super Tofu boy, Cooking mama mama kills animals, Elephants never forget and many more.
    Link to PeTA's games here.

Hypocrisy. PeTA puts animal lives above humans, but they euthanize homeless pets.

Take active debate against human reproduction. Why? For the sake of animals of course.

there are many more things. Just google PeTA.

    Now to the real discussion.
Is PeTA really a good organization? Are they actually getting anywhere? Do you think that PeTA is necessary? What are your personal thoughts?

Discuss and lets try to make sense of PeTA.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) actually considers/lists PETA as terrorist threat.

PETA has a good point, but they went overboard with it.

Releasing animals into the wild, who can't survive without medicine and proper feeding is very bad idea. And PETA did that.

It would be great idea, if it would be done right.

I'm all for the ethical treatement of animals, but PETA literally sickens me. They use emotionally manipulative images and videos in their advertisements to guilt trip viewers into thinking they're bad people if they don't help their garbage organization. They've used distasteful advertising (literally showing "attractive" women posing with vegetables to push for vegetarianism), absolutely horrendous propoganda (that twisted Pokémon "game"), and, frankly, are just an organization of fucking assholes.

You want to campaign for animal rights? Go to literally ANY OTHER ORGANIZATION BESIDES PETA.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS TERRIBLE ORGANIZATION AT ALL.

For a second I thought this was about Peta Bread XD

Peta stands for People of Ethical Treatments of Animals, which sound great, but in real life, it is the opposite.
They don't believe in keeping pets, raising an animal for food, against breeding of domesticated animals etc. I mean, if they really care about animals,
why do they kill the animals themselves, and return it to their owners? Why do they think that "Frying Nemo", The topic if fish feel pain when people are angling, is even a topic, when any other predators of fish eat them? While they make us the lesson to ourselves, we make a lesson to them. It's just a bunch of propaganda advertisements, and a terror to animals.

Peta is just a bad organisation where everyone wants to be a vegetarian and never to be their pets. They kill 96% of animals and take them to their "shelters". Rather than supporting this Terrorist Organisation for Domesticated Animals, I would 100% support my money to ASPCA.

PETA isn't even a charity like most people think they are a corporation that profits off of their gross campaigns. They are also Sexist, Ableist and just awful in general. Peta made a statement in response to someone mentioning that the popularizing of Quinoa in advanced countries has made it hard for people who use it as a food staple to afford it. The statement was basically that they didn't care if those people got hurt by it because their Anti-Meat agenda is more important than poor Bolivian farmers who get screwed.

They use this platform they built themselves to manipulate money out of people and use the money lobby for their political agenda's.

maybe people from PETA went too far with certain things
like that happens anywhere with anything every now and then doesn't it, any company
but the origin of the organization is to help animals and to make it so people will hopefully treat them better right?
because so many humans beings do not treat them well enough
i like that, that there are still people out there looking out for the other breathing creatures on this planet unlike so many others absolutely do not give a fak about
that is all i care about, may sound a bit strange to some people but thats what i care about so much
animals deserve more respect than they get from most people , seriously

There are plenty of other organizations that do stuff like that without doing the shit PETA does.
