A very popular genre on YouTube are Let's Plays, involving a commentator playing a game, and... that's it. In fact, the most subscribed person on the internet, Pewdiepie, does this exact job, and has about 35,000,000 people watching his videos. What do you think of these people? Do you think this job is too easy? Does it lack talent?

I honestly admire these people very much. It can be hard to create videos so frequently, especially because I can see the people getting bored of a game easily. I find these people hilarious too, namely Markiplier. How about you?

I think people who do these Lets Plays make it look easy but that's only because they know how to do commentary while playing a game. I think these people are a hit talented since they can multitask like that, plus its funny what they come up with for their dialogue.

Lets plays are not easy, I do agree that most succesful lets Players tend to make games look easy, but this isn't the real honest case here. Lets Players tend to either be good or just plain bad that it's surprising they got this far. Many Game companies tend to hate Lets Players even though Lets Players give the game they are playing free advertising, making others interested in the game. Lets Players are healthy for gaming, and are a great part of this community. That pretty much sums up my thoughts on them.

It's ridiculous that someone like PewDiePie can retire after two years of video production. As it stands, his net worth now is currently $12 million+. Just from playing video games and a little bit of video editing? Surgeons in the United States earn an average of $265,000 a year. From what I understand, after PewDiePie's 2 year mark, his new worth was around $8 million. What PewDiePie did in two years, would take the average surgeon 30 years to make that much. I enjoy watching certain let's players (usually the underrated ones), but it's just stupid how overly paid they get. Are real jobs just that overrated now?

While this job may seem fun and attractive, they do have to put in a lot of hard work. The biggest thing is dealing with the fan criticism tho. The Youtube comment section is infamously rude and is really known for being really hateful towards youtubers.

I really love watching let's plays because I don't have the time to play the games myself, but I love to see the gameplay and the stroy. It's so nice for the commentator to interact with the viewers and have reactions with the game. It's pretty entertaining.

I love this stuff. It's genius, especially when I'm too feelsy to touch a game again, I'd watch it with funny commentary~
Or, if it's a scene I have to watch, but I don't have the save file for it, I watch Lets Plays.

I think some of these people are pretty cool, though I prefer video game reviews or just shorts now days. This is why I like to watch JonTron, as his videos are pretty funny and straight to the point. Shoutout to PBG and his new Mario 64 hacked playthrough though.

I used to love watching LPers play games.. but lately almost all of the LPers I've been subbed to have been inactive. One of them dropped YouTube altogether almost since he felt the community was toxic and moved to livestreaming but that just isn't the same. Even with the streams there's no notice of when he'll be online to stream, though I guess he does upload those videos to YT occasionally (with comments turned off).. but again, it's not the same. I can't watch those streams on YT since you hear him reply to comments and talk to people which I can't get in on since I wasn't part of the stream and have no clue what he's replying to. Speaking about SSoHPKC here.

The other YouTuber I liked, UberHaxorNova, doesn't upload much anymore. </3 Nor does he play games I enjoy nowadays. Going to check out JesseCox's channel again and possibly sub since he was great last time.

At first I thought it didn't make much sense, but I realized that it actually takes a lot of effort and time to keep up a LP-er channel. I'd say that it indeed needs a bit of talent, just that 'something' that makes you connect with people, and then you need to love what to do and be persistent.
I don't watch too many Let's Plays but of these times I do, I enjoy them~

I think being a Let's Player requires a lot more work that it looks. I myself, find them really entertaining! My favorite Let's Player is HarshlyCritical, because I enjoy the fact that (like his namesake) he gives honest critiques about the games he's playing and doesn't automatically recommend everyone to play a game because it's popular or something. Also I enjoy that he doesn't get scared easily and isn't screaming at every little thing that happens in-game.

I love LPers! I admire these people a lot, it takes some hard work to be one. My favorite LPer is Thomal9, because he LPs a lot of Harvest Moon games, and quite a few games that I didn't know about and grew to like.

My problem is that i can't keep up with a LP and then I stop watching, no matter how funny I find them. The longest amount of an LP I ever watched was MorganWant's Moemon Emerald Nuzlocke, of which I watched about 30 episodes until I was too far behind... Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy watching them on occasion.

Also, it is really difficult to do LPs on YouTube. You need so much free time and I just couldn't do it... I pulled out two eps before I just couldn't continue...

Let's Plays are not easy; Uploading videos frequently can be a very time-consuming process, and most people have to concentrate while playing video games. Being able to multitask like that is fairly difficult which is something people don't quite understand. It also takes good personality skills or else it will just be bland having boring talk going over the video game.
