- What do you all think of lizards? - Why? - Do you see lizards often? Ever in your own house? - Any stupid lizard stories? I once saw this tiny lizard - about the size of a pinky fingernail - in my kitchen once. I let it stay around. Fast forward a few months later and there's one around three, maybe four centimeters scuttling around. These days I sometimes see it on the walls, hiding behind a cabinet or chilling on a high-up area on a wall. I like to think it was the same lizard.
I think lizards are pretty cool and cute. I mean, look at em. Just scaly doggos. I don't really see lizards often, but sometimes I see a few when I go certain places. Usually skinks. Well, when I went to Thailand, there were always a few chilling in the room I stayed in, and around the campus I was in. They were cool. One time, I was in Pakistan for the yearly visit I have with my family. This was a few years ago, so it's strange I remember this, but it was stupid, so I guess it makes sense. So, we went to a KFC one time, and we were heading up to the second floor. We went up there, and one of the windows was just COVERED in lizards. They were everywhere, you could barely see outside. They would also crawl around, so it looked stupid.
Where I live, there are a lot of lizards. I’ve caught a few in my lifetime, but I generally don’t mind them. I remember this one time a lizard bit my sister’s finger, it was kinda funny.
I love lizards, I have an enormous bias for reptiles and lizards are a close second to crocodilians for my favorite. I live in Canada so I dont get to see a lot of wild ones sadly but I do see one everyday since I have one as a companion. This is Ziri the juvenile crested gecko and I love him/her dearly.
I like lizards...but then asides from canines, equines, and primates, I like all animals generally. I used to catch slowworms out in the fields near where I used to live when I was a youngster...about 25 years ago. Siiigh. I haven't seen a lizard in a very long time though - I suppose the climate isn't really right for them here, and the area I'm living in now, whilst it has plenty of fields, seems to be better suited to mice than lizards.
I didn’t think about lizards much until one of my friends introduced me to “Shadow,” her bearded dragon. My Mom and I were so charmed by the little guy that we saved up for one of my own. His actual name is Speedy Gonzales, but everyone just shortens it to Gonzo. A year later, my Mom bought one for herself. We named her Plink after the cartoon sound effect for having an idea. Plink is generally more fond of me, so I’m the one who takes of her. My favorite thing about bearded dragons is how relaxed they are. You can leave them on your chest and just relax with them.
