Longest/Hardest Shiny Hunt?

The toughest shiny I have ever caught was the Rayquaza in Emerald version. I reset the game before fighting him so many times that it became downright stupid. I did get it eventually, though.

 

The hardest shiny Pokémon i ever caught had to be shiny pikachu i mean going back into the forest over and over and over is beyond words hard but i finally caught it and i was really happy about it

 

How about the hunt for my first shiny. That stupid Foongus toke 1000 hours to show up.

 

I spent a super long time searching for a shiny Gligar in hordes, so much that I found a shiny Weepinbell, which I accidentally ran from. I found a Shiny Gligar in an egg very soon after I stopped hunting in hordes. I was annoyed at the fastness but also really happy just to get a shiny Gligar.

 

Took me a chain of 200 to finally get my first chain fished shiny. What rotten luck! Everyone around me was getting them between 5 and 50 chains, ugh.

But that's by far not my longest. I've been breeding for a shiny Chespin for months and have hatched 1,000+ eggs, still no dice. Come on, masuda method and shiny charm! Give me a break here!

Longest shiny hunt I ever had was a chain fishing one; haven't had much success with shinies otherwise ;;

 

Shiny. Female. Combee.

I was going about it in the right way- I was in a Bug-type Friend Safari with a male Cute Charm Pokémon out front (so 66% of Combees would be female), and the only two Pokémon I could encounter in the safari were Combee and Volbeat. I was in there hunting for a little while, and I found my first shiny within a few hours. Sadly, it was a male Combee (which I already had), so I named it Comben and traded it to Ben, haha. I continued hunting, hoping to find a shiny female Combee somewhat quickly.

My second shiny was a Volbeat. That was cool, I didn't have a shiny Volbeat, but it wasn't what I was looking for.

My third shiny was also a Volbeat. Alright, that's kind of dumb, but I'm going to continue.

The fourth shiny was also a Volbeat. And the fifth. And the sixth. And the seventh. And the eighth.

I had descended into Volbeat hell. Everything was shiny Volbeat. In this one goddamn hunt, I had found 7 shiny Volbeats. SEVEN. WITHIN A DAY. I was so angry I completely abandoned the hunt and started work on completing the National 'Dex in X.

I went back to the hunt after I completed the PokéDex, and Arceus must have heard of my plight, because not even 50 encounters in, I encountered a shiny female Combee. I think I actually cried, I was so happy that I could get rid of my Volbeat curse and be rid of that safari for good. The Combee had a good nature as well, and she's currently an awesome shiny Vespiquen, one of the crown jewels of my shiny collection.

(Then while breeding I found another 2 shiny Volbeats in the grass and I was so mad I killed them both. No mercy for shiny Volbeats after this. None.)

 

The struggle when it comes to going through 42 boxes to get a shiny eevee.

 

I could never really hold my attention for long enough to really keep going for one specific shiny Pokémon. After 100 eggs I usually stop. However, I did breed a shiny Mawile that took me well over 200 eggs, so that's something :|

 

The longest - and thus far only successful attempt - was through breeding and I was trying to get a shiny Zorua (it's so cute with it's bright blue hair~!) it took me 3 weeks and I have no idea how many eggs but he hatched and I named him Prince!

Too bad he's stuck in Pokémon Black since I don't have poketransfer or pokebank... (I would love to bring my Reshiram over )

 

My hardest shiny hunt, wasn't even a hunt. Id never seen them and thought my friends were just screwing with me. I was playing through ruby for 3rd time (only one I've restarted for me, i restarted one for my dad to play). I caught a regular Zigzagoon, next Pokémon i saw, a shiny Zigzagoon. I caught it and named it Bronze, after the color. I like Linoone so i kept it over regular one. Part of main team against elite four. Only shiny I've ever gotten. But it's really cool and only one i need.

GEODUDES. They kept breaking my damn chain. I hate them for all they're worth. Eventually, after a few hours, I gave up, with no shinies to show for it. Gotta love that determination.

 

My shiny Pidove. I already had a shiny male Unfezant, but really wanted a shiny male one for competative. It took me about a box or two, keeping in mind mesuda method with two shinies.... But, its an impish female with 4ivs. Not exactly what I wanted for competitive at the time, but hey, its my first egg hatched shiny (and only one)!

Next up I could probably count Clauncher, because it took me ages, but I gave him away as a gift to a friend of mine who really likes Zoidburg. So he's not mine anymore.

Any other shiny I have I came across by pure coincidence, or by shiny hunting any DIFFERENT Pokémon than intended. So that doesn't really count.

 

It took me weeks and thousands of eggs to hatch my shiny bagon. She has 5 IVs so I was happy, but I cannot tell you how many times I wanted to quit, but boy am I glad I did not!

 

In my black and white i found out my game was hacked. and i took a shiny hunt for shiny reshiram that was the longest i have ever done omg

 

When I did a whole ton of breeding in black and white, my shiny Muk took sooooo long. Masuda method didn't work too well on it and I totally hated the process. I definetly liked the result, but getting there was hard.

 

The searches for a shiny Fennekin, Zorua, and Espurr via Masuda method took an awfully long time. So long, in fact, that I decidedly gave up on them some time ago. ;; Though shortest hunt was an accidental encounter with a shiny Drifblim that I wanted, but wasn't actively looking for.
