    Soulfire's Wedlocke Challenge!
Hello one, hello all, and welcome to my Pokémon X Wedlocke! This, I must admit, is tough. Dreadful. One Gym Battle in, and I've already lost a Pokémon. But I'm willing to take the challenge!
For those of you who don't know about the Wedlocke Challenge, here are The Rules!

RULE #1: FAINTED Pokémon ARE DEAD :(
When a Pokémon faints, it must be released forever (or boxed permanently). It is considered to be dead.

RULE #2: ONLY CATCH THE 1ST ELIGIBLE Pokémon IN AN AREA
You can catch or obtain only the first eligible obtainable Pokémon you encounter in any route or area, with exceptions being made based on the Pokémon's gender. Fail to catch it and you get nothing for the area.
    - Genderless Pokémon cannot be caught. Ever.
    - If you have 1, 3, or 5 Pokémon in your party, you ignore any Pokémon encounters whose gender you have an uneven number of, e.g. if you have just one male Pokémon and two female Pokémon, you cannot catch any more female Pokémon until the count is even again. If you have an even number of each gender, this does not apply.
    - "Dupes Clause" is recommended, to add to the uniqueness of each Pokémon. This means you do not count any encounter against any Pokémon whose species you have already caught, which is usually determined by the Poké Ball symbol by their HP bar.

RULE #3: ALL Pokémon MUST BE NICKNAMED
This is to increase the bond between you and your Pokémon. They're not just randoms; they're your friends. Treat them accordingly.

RULE #4: YOUR Pokémon ARE "PARTNERED" WITH EACH OTHER AND FIGHT IN PAIRS
    - Only one male and one female can form a pair, and once they do, it lasts until one dies or is released.
    - Each Pokémon on your team can battle only alongside its partner, if it has one. Switching Pokémon out in battle is allowed, but ONLY for the Pokémon's partner.
    - If a Pokémon dies in battle, its partner must avenge the fallen Pokémon or die along with them; switching to any other Pokémon is forbidden, regardless of circumstance. (In the case of Double or Triple Battles, you may have to make exceptions. Do what feels right.)
    - If a Pokémon's partner dies, it can gain a new one that doesn't already have a partner (either from a PC box or a wild Pokémon).

RULE #5: YOU CANNOT DEPOSIT Pokémon TO YOUR PC
    - You must release Pokémon or have them die in battle if you want to withdraw anything in your PC.
    - You can freely release your Pokémon (up to you if it counts as a "death" or not), but you will probably feel like a jerk for doing it.
    - If you absolutely require HM moves to get through the game, you may temporarily break this rule and deposit a pair of Pokémon in the PC for one or two HM Pokémon; however, they cannot fight or do anything other than use HM moves outside of battle, and should be removed as soon as one of your main Pokémon can use the required HM move.
So, shall we get started? :3 (I'm doing it in story format. Sort of inspired by Gengar's Grin's Wonderlocke challenge format. C:<)

    ~Chapter 1~
I had just finished moving to Kalos the night before, so I was(obviously) still tired. Of course, my mothers wretched Fletchling had to fly in like it was all that and wake me up. Ugh. I swatted the dumb thing away and got up, putting my Pikachu-themed DS on the table and getting changed. I headed downstairs, where my mom greeted me. She was saying a bunch of random stuff, like "Oh, did you sleep well? Oh, did you wake up well?" Blah blah blah. After listening to he ramble for a bit, I headed outside. I was confronted by two natives, one guy and one girl. I was surprised..they spoke my language. But then again, why shouldn't they? Yeah. Anyway, the girl was called Shauna, and the guy was called Calem. Some quite Kalosian names, indeed.
I didn't really mind them at first, until they mentioned this creepy stalker professor that wanted to give me a Pokémon. Seriously, did your parents ever teach you about 'Stranger Danger'? After a bit of talking, they left(finally!), and I began my short but sweet trek down the lame excuse for Route 1. When I reached the next town, I was called over by that Shauna girl. I walked over and sat, having nothing better to do. This fat guy, whose name was Tierno, suddenly wanted to give me a nickname. Really? I'm happy with my own name, thanks. Anyway, they left it up to me to decide, so I told them to call me their Saviour. That ought to be fun.
Finally Tierno brought out the Pokémon. I chose Fennekin, of course.
Hey, I love fluffy, cute, fire-types. I'm not girly by any means but I just like fluffy, cute..ah, you get the picture. Anyway, I chose to name him Shippo, in honour of a character in one of my first ever Anime.
[IMG] Shippo - Male - Naughty - Likes to Thrash About
So after that, I was given a Pokédex by Trevor, this nerdy kid, but I didn't really care about it so I chose n to listen to him. Then I was given a smelly letter from the stalker professor Sick-a-more. I was about to go give it to my mom, but Shauna wanted to fight. I beat her easy, went and gave the letter to mom, and went on to route 2.
There, Shauna and Calem were waiting for me. Calem showed me how to catch a Pokémon, even though I protested and told him I already knew. He is such a priss. But he gave me some Pokéballs, so I didn't complain. Eventually I encountered a female Weedle. She literally fell head-over-heels for Shippo(a fox and a bug....Ew.), so I had no choice but to catch her. I named her Harriet.
[IMG] Harriet - Female - Impish - Thoroughly Cunning
    First pair, yay!
After fighting a trainer and entering the forest, Shauna caught up to me, and gave me no chance to run. She offered to heal my Pokémon, though, so I guess I was fine with that. I encountered a male Pansear in the forest, so I caught him a and named him Alexander.
[IMG] Alexander - Male - Brave - Highly Persistent
After quite a bit of battling I finally made it out of that dreadful forest. On route 3, Calem gave me some unneeded Adventure Tips, and I caught a female Fletchling, whom I named Cinnamon. Trust me, she's a lot better than my mom's. And she and Alexander are a pair. How strangely cute!
[IMG] Cinnamon - Female - Impish - Alert to Sounds
Finally I made it to the next city, Santalune, and healed up my Pokémon. Then I headed to some other route and caught a Psyduck. I named him Donald, because he wasn't black. Haha.
[IMG] Donald - Male - Timid - Strongly Defiant(Oh man)
I trained my team up and went back to Santalune city(Harriet evolved!). I wanted to go to the other route nearby, but this stupid lady wouldn't let me. How am I supposed to know how to say 'No, I'm going anyway' in Kalosian?
So, after muttering a few hexes under my breath, I strode over to the gym. This rollerskate-lady battled me, and after I beat her, she gave me her skates. Are you kidding me? I can't skate worth crap!
Then I went into the gym. It was a bug-type gym...great. I have huge arachnophobia and I hate most bugs. This'll be greeeaaat......
The gym trainers were pretty easy, but the Gym Leader...AAAH
Someone stop me from murdering her. First, she repeatedly says 'Fantastic' like 1000 times, the she KILLS MY KAKUNA.
What kind of person are you, monster?!
Anyway, Shippo was enraged by this, and he completely obliterated the Surskit and Vivillon owned by that terrible person. Poor guy. He's single now. Just like Donald.
The monster then proceeded to give me a badge and send me out the door. I headed to the Pokémon center and boxed poor Harriet(Long live the Deadsies box...I hope that you never fill...), then settled down for the night.
    What a dreadful day.

I love the name of this challenge.

Like seriously. I want to marry it.

That alone makes me want to tackle such a daunting task. Maybe I missed something in the rules, but what if both Pokémon of a given pair faint/die in one fight? Can you just switch out to whomever you want, or is that a game over because you can only switch between the one pair at a time?

Also, I hope you find a grassy type soon. Pendraflare's right, you do need someone to protect those fires.
