Quite possibly one of the weirdest and scariest games I've ever played. The game was actually based off of a dream journal someone made by an employee over the course of a few years at Asmik Ace (one of the Developer/publishers of the game). You will hardly ever see the same thing/hear the same music twice, and you will never know what will pop up in the background. The game was also part of a larger project, which included a soundtrack called LSD & Remixes (which is an awesome soundtrack if you can find it online, though not to be confused with the soundtrack that comes with the game, "Lucy in the Sky with Dynamites"), and the actual Dream Journal itself, which is titled, "Lovely Sweet Dream" (which I happen to have in PDF format, and 95% of it actually has translated English text alongside the Japanese text along with a series of drawings made by famous artists around the world).

This game is probably Osamu Sato's most famous work he's made, especially since the internet has made people around the world curious to try it, and it's actually a gateway to his other works (such as a very abstract adventure game called Eastern Mind: The Lost Souls of Tong Nou, which actually had a release in English!, and the Japan-only/super-rare sequel, Chu-Teng, which has recently become available online thanks to 4Chan). Other than that, he's also known for making abstract art, music videos, and commercials.

Only other thing to say is that if you want to import the game, good luck; Even if you can find a copy, they can go as much as $300 on Ebay, so you really have only two options: 1. Find the ISO file of the game to play it on ePSXe/any PS1 emulator (Like I did), OR if you have a PS3, there's option 2: Set up a Japanese PSN account, and buy the game from their PS Store (should be the Yen equivalent of $6-$10).

Would love to know if anyone else has ever played this. : P

I've played it quite a bit, probably went through about 45 "Days". It's weird as hell but pretty cool. My favorite is trying to run into the "hat man"; sometimes I did quite frequently.

One time I was in a corridor of a building looking at little rooms, and one had a teddy bear in it. Suddenly the bear fuckin' gets up and wanders towards me, and when it hits me, flash and the dream ends. That was pretty entertaining.

Yes! I've played it! Very fun for creeping out my little sister when we used to smoke together. I heard a rumor that the longer you played the more messed up the game got, like creepier stuff and all that, but for some reason the emulator or the iso I played it with wouldn't hold a save so I don't really know for a fact. I always seemed to end up in that little Japanese village and not much would happen there. The sound of the footsteps in this game also really bothered me so I always played with the game muted and would put on my own spine tingling music. All in all though I did really enjoy the game and I do eventually want to play again, hopefully this time being able to save. What I would really love though is if they made a remake - can you imagine how great this game would be with updated graphics?

Instead of using save files, just use the emulator's save states. That's what I did. A remake might be nice, but part of me feels like a lot of the charm would be lost, that they would try just a little too hard to make it "creepy and random".

You could get the .iso and burn it into a CD if you have a chipped ("hacked") PS1/PSX, as you could with any game. Same deal with PS2 games.
I so want to check this out.

The graphics become increasingly bizarre, but you have to make sure you don't run into the Grey Man/Hat Man by accident, or else the game resets back to the normal texture and you can't "Flashback" on that day. The worst I've seen were when the graphics all became bright colors and had Kanji letters EVERYWHERE, but it can become even worse! XD And yeah, the closest game that has a modern equivalent would be "Dream" from Steam's Greenlight program, but it looks to be more of a traditional adventure game, so the closest you have to LSD would be Yume Nikki (an equally disturbing game, but it runs off of RPG Maker, I believe).

By the way, Someone at The Pirate Bay has a "Complete Osamu Sato Collection" which contains Eastern Mind/Chu-Teng/LSD along with all of his music albums/soundtracks, an art book, and Lovely Sweet Dream (even though the author is the employee from Asmik and not Sato), but I don't know if the forum will allow me to post links like that. : I

I have yet to play this game, but with the insane amount of prescriptions I've been put on, I'm really tempted to give it a try....

Well this game is definitely a bad idea to play before going to bed. I have it and I am too much of a wimp to actually play it at night...

I have definitely been there for a fraction of minutes although... Has anyone here have screenshots of when that happens? Im curious, what else is in there?
