Lycanroc - Midday or Midnight?

Midday! The midnights eyes scare me lol, it looks so weird.

 

I'm not too picky on either but that's mainly because I'm addicted to Rockruff as is. I'm not into the thoughts of letting it evolve

 

I used the Midday form during my playthrough of Sun. She was my leadoff Pokémon that basically set a stealth rock trap and then bit or rock slided whatever else came out. The Midday is also quite speedy and I've used it to take care of many other quick flying and fire types.

Kahili's Oricorio didn't know what hit it after that accelerock. XD

 

Midday is just too beautiful, I cannot leave it aside >.<

 

Good luck on your hunt! I agree, it looks quite nice. Perhaps I'll start SOSing for a blue Rockruff soon.

I believe that Midday form is the obvious choice to players who don't do too much strategizing in battle, due to it's 112 base speed and 115 base attack. And with the ability Sand Rush, it doubles it's speed in a sandstorm. A good item would be a choice scarf, with the Sand Rush, and the moves Accelerock, Stone Edge, Crunch, and Fire Fang. Swords Dance is quite tempting, but due to Lycanroc's poor defense and special defense, it might get OHKO'd by a stab move. I hope my post was helpful!!!

 

As cool as the Midnight form looks, Midday form looks a lot more like its pre-evolution and I've actually used it, so I can't help but like it a little better.

 

Design wise I like Midnight, but from a competitive perspective Midday is much more appealing.

 

Is it? I bought the Midnight form would have been better comp wise.

 

I like both. I used midnight for my playthrough. In an original story I'm working on, I have two characters that are supposed to represent the moon. One is primarily represented by the color gold and the other is red, so Lycanroc reminded me of them. I couldn't help but like them both.

 

Midnight form is the form for me. Competitiveness isn't really a factor for me since both forms are PU post-Bank. I'm more drawn to unconventional and non-traditional evolutions. The Midday form is still a well-designed form, but it didn't strike me as much of as a "sun" evolution as it did a "normal" evolution. On the other hand, the Midnight form definitely was a "moon" evolution, which was a factor that I loved. Perhaps if the Midday form differed more from Rockruff, then my opinion would be a little more mixed. As it currently stands, however, I like the Midnight form more than Midday.

 

I'm honestly torn on this one. Midday is way better in terms of competitive use but I honestly like midnight form better in terms of looks. I wish there was a way to create a third that combined the best of both worlds, that or make midnight form better.

I named my Midday form Syaoran and Midnight Kurogane after two of my favorite characters from a certain series. But ever since seeing Midday I knew I'd love it more; it's so sleek and elegant looking. Midnight I've seen people attribute to 'that darkness wolf OC' which I suppose I understand ha, but it is still very very cool!

 

I actually love both.

While I WOULD say that Midnight Lycanroc could have been a dark brown instead of red if I had to nitpick about its design standing out from the rest of its line, the designs for both forms overall are spectacular - and I'm not even a dog fan IRL!

Dusk form is my fav but Midday is also cool
