It was a warm day, warm to most- but certainly not to a certain white haired geek. To Chase, it was a hot day, since the teen had a tendency to stay indoors and play games of all sorts he wasn't used to climate changes at all. Chase watched the gym class from his seat by the window, waiting for the lunch bell to ring so he could storm out of the classroom and to the usual "meet up" spot. And the silverette did just that when the bell tolled, not remembering much of what was lectured about during class. He turned the corner, ignoring the loud murmurs of classmates and silently made his way into a small room he and his childhood friend had claimed as their own for a "do nothing" club. While the room was reserved as a club for the duo under school rules for their registration but really the club wasn't much of a club at all. Jay and Chase seemed to just use the room for their own devices either during lunch, or the end of the day if they didn't feel like going home right away. "Did you beat me in again?" Chase started as he entered the room, closing the door behind him.

Chase never liked the school lunches, so he always brought his own- but even without having to stop to get a lunch, Jay always seemed to arrive at their hideout faster. Not that Chase minded, if they hadn't dared or placed bets on each other's speed every now and again. Chase was Jay's friend for as long as he could remember, and the two always seemed to be found together- even the female students began to spread rumors about them since neither of them had girlfriends. Jay was always outgoing, capable, and active in all sorts of ways, while Chase was introverted and unathletic in every field. The white haired teen sat himself down and unwrapped his lunch while pulling out a handheld console to play with, wondering what parts of his lunch he would trade with Jay this time.

"YOU CALL THAT A PASS? I'LL SHOW YOU A PASS!" Jay shouted at his classmate as he roughly kicked the soccer ball that just nearly took his head off. The ball soared right over his classmate's head and past the stunned goalie, making for a clean goal. Jay cheered along with his teammates until their celebration was cut short by the teacher calling the class to a close, telling them to head inside to clean up and get changed.

Jay gave his classmates a wave before running down from the soccer field to quickly change before the next bell rang. Despite the mid-September heat, the dark-haired teen still loved staying active- the fact that he barely broke a sweat during most activities didn't hurt, either. He quickly tore off his gym shirt and shorts as he entered the locker room while fiddling with his locker (which he fitted with a hair tie he 'borrowed' from one of his female classmates so it would open without needing the combination- he didn't keep anything important in there anyway), and put on his pants and double-layered school uniform before his classmates made it down the hill. He splashed some water in his face and put on his glasses just as the lunch bell rang, which was Jay's cue to leave.

He made his way to a currently empty classroom that he and his friend Chase had reserved for 'club' purposes during the lunch period- if you could even call it a club. All they really did was talk about their days and catch up before their Health class next period. Chase had been Jay's friend for ages, they've been inseparable friends since Elementary school, even despite their differences. Jay knew all too well about the rumors surrounding their relationship, since neither boy has shown any interest in having a girlfriend- but he didn't care. If his outgoing nature is seen as flamboyant, so be it- at least he has an awesome friend to share his time with.

"Aw man, Mom packed me a PB&J again," Jay whined, setting that part of his lunch aside to bribe his friend with. As if on cue, the classroom door opened and Chase walked in, greeting Jay with a smile.

"Did you beat me in again?" The silver-haired teen asked, sitting down at a desk next to him, bringing out his own lunch box and a Nintendo DS.

"Yeah, just finished up with gym," Jay said. "We're still doing soccer, I hope we move on to volleyball soon." He munched on his potato chips, thinking about his day. "Hey, have you met that new kid yet? I have him in my English class, I think his name is Dave or something. The teacher said he was a transfer student."

Chase saw the PB&J sandwich his friend had set on the table and knew the casual routine would begin again. Chase sighed softly and took half of the sandwich, replacing the half with the tastier portion of his own lunch. Usually the two would only trade food they found desirable, but whenever PB&J days came around for his friend, he always spared sympathy. Maybe Jay began to think Chase liked those sandwiches because of it? The teen passed over a few more smaller portions before beginning on his own meal, listening to his friend explain the starting curricular for gym. "I was watching you play out there, you're great at soccer. Like every other sport you seem to try!" Chase ended the last half of his sentence with a teasing tone. It was true though, he hadn't seen anyone ever have as much aptitude as Jay when it came to sports. Jay was a natural, Chase had often wondered if there was anything his friend couldn't do. It was surprising that despite his skill, Jay didn't have any desire to hang out with the popular kids and could've been a popular kid if he didn't hang out with a white-haired nerd all the time. Chase smiled to himself at how lucky he was to have a friend who wouldn't ditch him, even if they joked about each other all the time.

"I would try to play volleyball with you, but I'd probably get slammed in the face." He said with a mouthful of food. "And I've gotten hit with more than enough dodge balls in the past few years." His head perked up at the question, a new student? Well it wasn't too late in the year that it would be strange... "Thinking he could hang out with us or something? Or is he already sitting with the preps?" Chase inquired. The two weren't really searching for another companion, Chase was certain, but it didn't hurt to give a probably shy new kid some people to hang out with. He turned on his Nintendo and began playing with it as he ate, he may have gotten in trouble for playing games at the table at home, but school was another story.

"Aw, I thought you liked playing dodgeball with me," Jay teased as he grabbed the piece of fluffernutter sandwich Chase gave him. "At least I play fair, unlike half of the damn jocks in this school," he said with a mouthful of sandwich. Rummaging through the rest of his lunch, he set the rest of his chips and a chocolate-chip cookie on Chase's desk before turning his attention back to the sandwich.

"I don't think I saw the new kid hang out with anyone yet, though. Hell, I haven't really seen him talk with anyone besides the teachers." He pondered where he's seen the transfer student since their Junior year started, but he couldn't think of any other places besides English. Jay shrugged. "If I see him, I'll ask if he wants to hang out with us. Can't hurt I guess, he seems nice enough. Maybe I can get him to play dodgeball with me!"

Washing down the remainder of Chase's sandwich with juice, he looked out of the classroom window, watching some of the students mingle outside during their lunch period. Jay inwardly cursed himself for forgetting his DS at home in his rush to leave, then he could play along with Chase. Tearing his gaze away from the window, he looked over at his friend's desk. "What game are you playing, anyway?"

    yohohohohoho here we go))

Chase took the cookies and chips as Jay slid them across the table, happily eating the snacks more than the sandwich he was given. "He hasn't been hanging out with anyone? That's weird...Maybe he's antisocial or something?" Chase contemplated the idea until Jay mentioned dodgeball, "If I end up having two sporty friends I'm gonna die from physical activities!" He groaned. He looked back at the handheld, getting a bit more enthusiastic when talking about his games. "Packet Mon! I'm training the next one in my collection!" He began excitedly, a grin on his face. A cool guy and a nerd, that's what the two seemed to make up. The silverette began to wonder if this 'Dave' had any classes with him, Chase wasn't much for conversation- maybe they could bond over that. "Anyway, I have some studying to do when I get home as well, do you want to come over for a bit and play some Packet Mon with me while I'm at it? It would be waaaay less boring." Chase waved the cookie before biting into it again.

It wasn't abnormal for the two to pop in after school to each other's homes, and sometimes even, unannounced. The day was almost over, and soon they could return to their lazy duties instead of worrying about the upcoming tests.
